So who is going to take this job? There are very few rumors on Auburn that don't involve Bobby Petrino or Jimbo Fisher. Anyone heard anything differently.
Don't mention Chad Morris. That was a rumor that was debunked.

Does anyone want this job? The program is a lot like UF's was post '10. Lots of jack arse players with inflated egos thanks to the coaching staff.
Whoever takes over is going to have to get rid of a lot of the bad pieces. Going to take a special hire to turn AU around quickly.

agreed.

True. Would it be odd for him to take the HC job at a rival school?

He has only been at Arky St. for a year. Not sure he is that kind of guy.

Good point.

I just don't think Auburn is that great of a job. No real recruiting base. Wedged in between Alabama and UGa, two major SEC powers. High expectations. Almost every successful coach ended up under NCAA investigation.
I'd avoid that job like the plague.

Adam, I anchor your threads often because the subjects lack information. See stickied thread on the help board

Perhaps you could suggest what the thread title should be then? I thought Auburn Coaching Search was detailed enough.

If you want a winner, you take Petrino.

I mean other than him. I have not really heard one legit candidate for the job other than him. I heard the rumor about Kirby Smart but other than Gary Andersen going to Utah St. I can't think of many instances where a coach has gone to a rival school. Maybe I'm way off base.

Not doubting it but wouldn't it make more sense for him to take the Arky job?

I'm almost nervous about Auburn. It seems like its quiet on the plains... almost too quiet
