With all due respect, who cares? These games are not about the fans, they're about the players.

If its not the Championship game, I personally don't care what game it is. We'll get em next year!

Until the fans hold themselves to the same standards they hold the coaches and players too, they will be FOREVER disappointed. If you don't give 100% every outing, don't expect it back. If you aren't perfect, you can't demand perfection.

This is what is killing college football! We need a playoff system now!

I agree. We are better than this as LSU fans. Or at least we were when I was an undergrad. We bitch too much. I'm excited to spend NYE in ATL. It was fun last time.

Well, there is a lot of the problem, apparently. While the guys on the field are top-notch, the support (or lack thereof) from the stands makes an impression also. It does help to motivate and lift the players at times; and more importantly, it helps potential future players decide if they want to be a part of said team/culture. Players like to be supported, just like anyone else. You want the screaming fans, the glory. The level of the LSU fanbase's passion is a big part of its' success.

Not sure if I understand the 2nd statement right, but if it's championship or bust, then that's not being a fan (-anatic), that's being a frontrunner.

For myself, I want to win every single year, but if we don't get in the title game, then LSU vs North Texas in the Hiccup Bowl would be bigger to me than Alabama-Notre Dame, cuz I would get to watch my Tigers one more time

Remember when we played Miami in 2005 at the peach? We were stoked at the matchup (as Clemson likely will be). Miami fans said they didn't care since it wasn't the title game... let's not be like that.
i don't know about this. losing the SECCG and getting the shaft by playing in the peach?

they may have beaten the shite out of miami then, but i assure you there were more than a few disappointed people at the bowl selection.

The couple hundred people who post on this website aren't "the fanbase"...they are a small part of a few hundred thousand Tiger fans. So you need to stop speaking for our fanbase based on a couple hundred idiots.....

Unlike clemson fans, I do not need meaningless verbal sparring to validate myself. Frick them and frick the peach bowl

According to who? Just because some fans are whining about the matchup? That isn't representative of our entire fanbase and if you think TD/TR is a true representation of the LSU fanbase then you are way out of touch. I talk to LSU fans all the time who have never heard of TD/TR and really wouldn't have the time to read and post here. LSU and its fanbase will be ready come bowl time.

Truer words have never been spoken! There is another world out there.

I'm only disappointed with the game due to the time that it is played. I generally enjoy the Peach bowl. It just kinda sucks because I wont be able to watch it. One of the most memorable moments of my LSU watching career ( ) is the Josh Reed toe tap catch in the Peach Bowl Josh Reed TD Catch (Yes the video is in HD)

the bowl games are pathetic this year...some of the worst matchups i have ever seen. I would much rather play Clemson in the Peach than play NIU in the Orange or play Nebraska or even Wisconsin - 7-5- are you kidding me - in the rose bowl - thats just ridiculous. We got a really good matchup and its the only bowl game that night. Not on new years day when there are 10 other games. I remember when we were excited to get into the peach bowl a few years ago when we pummeled Ga. Tech in the 2nd half behind Rohan Davey...we took over that damn Dome ! Lets do it again new years eve - LSU football is special no matter who we play or where we play or when we play. Its LSU Fightin tiger football dammit ! Bring it New years eve - i will be there loud and proud !!

You know how certain teams' fans are stereotyped? That has been the case with LSU. Up until very recently, LSU fans were perceived as the Stiffler, the Spicoli of the college crowd. Loud, rowdy, crazy party fools, going to dominate in any environment.

What are we now? We're acting like whiny, self-pitying wimps. We have a couple Clemson trolls trying to spark some action on these boards, and the overwhelming reaction has seemed... well, you can visualize it. We are laying in bed crying with the pillow pulled over our heads. Clemson fans banging on the door saying let's go out and see what you got, and we are answering "go away, leave me alone".

This isn't LSU. We should already be over whatever perceived snubs we've gotten, not pouting. We should be ready to blow the Clemson fans' minds and drink them under the table, so they recall their matchup with awe. Instead, we're coming across as spoiled bitches.

Remember when we played Miami in 2005 at the peach? We were stoked at the matchup (as Clemson likely will be). Miami fans said they didn't care since it wasn't the title game... let's not be like that.

Raw deal this bowl season... maybe. But we can still remind the other bowls what they missed out on. Let's regain our edge as a fan base and rock Atlanta this New Year's eve.

Leave them alone.
