Well, when you go full retard on defense (Ole Miss and Arky) that can happen. We did it to ourselves and have no right to bitch.

I think LSU will have a good turnout in terms of number of fans
Pretty sure someone posted earlier that there were less than 1000 ticket left.

Now it appears you think that factor is irrelevant.
The factor is relevant. A&M would travel to Cotton MUCH better than LSU would. That is a FACT.
They are excited about their 10-2 season. We're genuinely fricking pissed because our fans are more focused on bama than LSU.
Plus, most LSU fans on here would be saying how they are going to Dallas next year, so they will sit this one out.

No we do. We should have gone to the Cap1 as already demonstrated. Also, looks like going full retard on defense is a bigger determining factor than travel. Again, that is my point. Travel is pretty low on the list. Your fear is unfounded.

So now the factor is how you might travel without regard to your past in conjunction with your seasonal expectations? Sounds like the solution is actually to have low expectations and hope that bowl selectors think you may travel without regard to past performance.
Your concern is largely unfounded.

They'll show up. There are a number of them here in Georgia. At least the ticket sales will be there, and the hotels will be filled anyway because of New Year's Eve. It's a win-win.
We're playing another 10-2 team and not an 8-4 Texas team (We had more to lose there). I like the challenge between two teams with the same record. Even though part of me wanted the Cotton Bowl, I did not like the opponent.
Clearly, between Texas and Clemson, this game will help us prepare for next season more than any other especially when you consider TCU, JFF, Driskell, and Murray who are also very mobile QBs.
Hopefully, our young guys will step it up in practice on defense and earn a few more quality snaps in the bowl game in preparation for the coming season.

He's referring to 2010 and we did win the Ole Miss game that year.

No...that is for general public consumption. LSU will be on the hook for a certain amount of tickets, regardless.

but LSU has been getting a tough draw since Les has been here.
well, when you struggle against Towson and a 3-9 Auburn, that can happen.
I'm sorry, but style counts. People think we suck when they see us win games 12-10 and then struggle against mediocre to bad Arky and Ole miss teams.

Arkansas (lulz) to the Sugar

defending champs. WE got a pretty good draw in 04 coming off our 03 season.

The Cotton got OU, BTW.

Meet me in Freer, we'll shoot a deer, a couple big fireworks and watch the game at the outdoor kitchen having a handle of crown.
F Atlanta.

The lulz was for their ridiculous bed-shitting performance against tosu.

STYLE matters. That's why those of you wondering why we get screwed.....it's because of our style.
What I'm saying, is if we don't travel, then we will get passed over even more. As in dropping to the peach in a season like 2010.

I will no show for this game. This will be the first LSU game in Atlanta that I have missed in the last 7 years. I have been to every SECCG, Peach and Chik Fil A bowl that LSU has played in.
This seems like a letdown, the whole season does, and the brand of football simply hasn't been that exciting to watch so that kind of let the air out of the tires. LSU ususally does come out and roll in bowl games, however (except for CAP 1 bowl), so they will probably demolish Clemson. Not that high of an entertainment value

Change the thread title to if LSU doesn't start blowing out teams in sure-fire wins, it WILL affect our future bowl selections, if that is the case.

How else can a fan let their voice be heard to the SEC? The SEC office deliberately moved LSU out of a bowl that wanted them. Let's see...
UGA - 1-2 vs the SEC big 6. Received a notoriously weak regular season schedule but gets credit for playing Bama close (I guess LSU got blown out by Bama)
South Carolina - 10-2, AP rank 11, BCS rank 10 (lost to LSU)
Texas A&M - 10-2, AP rank 10, BCS rank 9 (lost to LSU
LSU - 10-2, AP rank 9, BCS rank 8
How does the SEC maneuver the bowl selection so that LSU is slotted behind all of these teams?

I am aware of this. OU was the team that the Cotton needed in order to get Texas A&M. Texas was not going to play them because A&M bolted to the SEC. And yet, reportedly there was still some politics in play to get them to that game Sunday morning after knowing the fate of Texas the previous night.
