So, last year you bitch about the teams going to the SECCG getting screwed in bowl selection because bama sat at home.

No I didn't. Link??

You bitch about screwing us in 05 with the peach, so they did something about it.

Yes I did. They haven't "protected" the loser of that game any year since, until now, when it directly hurts LSU.

won't rematch clemson. That is terrible tv.

Not LSU's fault. Tell the Chick Fila Bowl to choose another ACC team.

fans are more excited.

So? ULL fans would be thrilled to be picked for the Cotton Bowl, but they didn't have a better year than LSU, and neither did A&M (24-19).

So slot them in the Capital One bowl

No argument from me there. Prevent defense cost us a 24-12 win vs A&M, 23-14 win vs USC, and a 17-14 win vs Bama.

Style points matter.

What? It's true that Arky is better than lsu in 2010. They beat us by 8 pts if I recall correctly.

If we look bad on tv, it lowers our preseason ranking and espn will harp on it. I already posted a scenario in which a&m will surpass us and go BCS over us because of a poor showing.

I can make up a completely fake hypothetical to backup my position to. Is that how you really plan to support your assertion?

I go when I want. Give me a shitty bowl in a crappy town and I choose to spend my money elsewhere like on LSU basketball.

yes they do. But toss dive at the goalline cost us more in those games than our prevent defense did. Kicking field goals vs scoring TDs is the difference between average and great.

There is double precedent for this. First, last year. Second, 2005. Third, this year (see Florida). You're really taking it on the chin here.

And a MUCH weaker SOS. Northern Illinois has a better record than most of the country. Doesn't make them deserving.

Don't waste your breath. LSU fans will stay away in droves. If its not the cool game in a neato stadium they don't think their team deserves their support. I still think we got a raw deal and playing in this bowl against Clemson doesn't excite me but I agree that we should support our team regardless. But it's already been decided, the fans aren't coming.

So, if it is down to a 10-2 A&M and a 10-2 LSU for the 2nd SEC bcs slot and A&M is chosen, just remember it's a combo of them showing up better and style points. Despite if we beat them or not.

You better believe had FSU won that they'd be BCS bound, not us this year.

It would be Georgia given the Bama game goes the same way. See, I can make completely unsupported assertions too!

Oh, if you wake up tomorrow with a vagina, don't blame me.

Wait, if you fall off of a horse this year, don't blame me.

No you're moving the target. This is about your argument that LSU's traveling has a direct impact on the bowl they are selected to. I have proved that it isn't even a main factor. This thread and my argument isn't about protecting the SECCG game loser and I don't really have an opinion on that.

They beat UF and lost to Bama just as close as we did.

They won their side of the division, we did not.

They had a better win against Auburn than us.

The only leg up we got on them is beating USCe at home.

Punish Georgia???

They backdoored into two straight SEC championship games by playing cupcakes from the SEC West while South Carolina, who beat them both years, played good teams from the SEC West.

The SEC has done them enough favors. If they Bama/UGA game remained on the schedule for this regular season, UGA would not have been in the SECCG.

why? i think it's better than playing Texas who would've been chosen had we gone to cotton.
Clemson is 10-2.

The only way to make it where any team doesn't have a cupcake cross divisional schedule is to play 13 conference games or go to 16 teams and have 4 team pods. Otherwise, depending on cycles, team will have easy schedules at times.

For instance, Auburn wasn't supposed to suck this bad this year. in 2010, south Carolina played Arky and Bama (3 loss bama mind you) while UGA played the Cam Newton Tigers. shite just happens. Also, Scar had Arky while UGA played tough Tuberville Auburn teams earlier in the 2000s.

That's just how it goes.
