I find it quite sad that most people on the MSB are taking so much delight in kicking a team & a fan base when they're down. Is this really what its come down to here? Is this fun?

well

1. if this happened to another school, there would be a lot of posts/discussion about it on here

2. tech fans pissed off a lot of fans of other smaller teams, so this is a revenge moment

3. tech fans did get a big head about this season. fanning up is great, but if shite hits the fan, you're going to have hell to pay

quote:

Its quite ignorant to shite on the Entire Tech fan base over a horrible decision that was made by a small group of people.

the vast majority of people feel bad for the seniors and are laughing at the AD and not the fanbase

quote:

Most Tech fans would definitely opt to go to the IBowl over nothing at all,

well no shite, but they spent about 24 hours shitting on the indy bowl talking about how they were going to a better bowl. that makes the target a lot bigger when they don't get into any bowl (and tried to crawl back to the indy bowl)

come on

it is all in good fun

ULL, ULM and Tech hate on each other equally. Tech had a good year, and a lot of Tech fans talked a lot of shite. Now the ULL and ULM are having fun watching those same Tech fans cry.

We stood our ground for something we believed was possible - a bigger, better reward than playing NLU in Shreveport.

This statement speaks volumes to me, an outsider, as to the piss-poor attitude LA Tech had in this situation. You get offered a bowl invite, you take it. What makes you so much better than ULM? (cute touch you added by calling them NLU).

why? Tech was obviously very confident a Liberty bowl bid was coming.

as an LSU fan, would you want LSU to just accept the first bowl that offered them, even if a bigger, better bowl was in the picture?

GTFO..

Of course they are enjoying it, you guys ran your mouths and made idiotic post the whole season. So seeing you go from the so called penthouse to the outhouse is pretty fricking funny.

The Liberty Bowl bid was on shaky ground, obviously. Tech was not guaranteed a bowl tie-in anywhwere due to their conference. That would never happen to LSU since there are so many league tie-ins in the SEC.

But they HAD to have their answer on Saturday.

Tech folks are going to ride this like a rented mule. The fact is you were a 3rd place WAC team pushing your chest out acting like you were above the Indy Bowl and ULM. This is going to be perceived as a tremendous screw up no matter what van de velde comes out to say. If you are a 3rd place WAC team with only one conf. tie in, you dont run the risk he ran. Especially if its in the city that represents the largest piece of your fanbase.

Your confidence in knowing you will get another bowl bid if you decline one should be totally different between tech and lsu fwiw. That's the whole problem with your fanbase, you aren't lsu and nothing even close to being as revelant in the grand scheme of things of cfb. And you don't have to be and shouldn't expect to be at this point, there's no doubt tech is a program on the rise but you guys think your shite don't stink for some reason

As someone else pointed out is the Liberty Bowl really that much better a bowl that it was the risk of not going?

I knew one of you retards would jump on the LSU comparison

Tech took a risk to try and further extend their "brand" or whatever you want to call it and it backfired. Honestly, I don't blame the AD for turning down the I Bowl if he had confidence in another bowl. I don't agree with it, but he obviously felt good about Tech's bowl scenario, and he was obviously wrong.

Everybody loves to say Tech is not relevant, and when they try to improve the relevancy, everyone shits all over them.

To act as though you were not going to "settle"for some third rate bowl against a "third rate team" is where the humor is. Look around......Tech IS a third rate team...every year. This is the delusion people talk of and why they are laughing at the magnitude of delusion exhibited yesterday. I'll let you in on another secret that most will also agree with.....with Kolton Browning healthy....ULM is better than your team this year. (when he was out, I'd give the edge to the dawgs.". So, to claim you are settling on playing a team that is better than you is a joke. You ask for sympathy here....yet continue the narcisistic delusion in your statement. Newsflash....Nobody outside of Ruston sees La Tech as a threat. You are a rent-a-win who beat a few really bad teams this year. (For laughs, why don't you identify for the Tiger fans just how many teams with winning records Tech beat this year. Then tell them how many had more than one win....). That's why you may have trouble finding sympathy. Just an observation and an opinion from somebody not in Ruston.

saturday i defended tech, but ON THIS BOARD they spent a full day talking shite about the indy bowl and kept talking about how they were above it. so OF COURSE they're going to have to publicly eat crow at this situation

You laugh but that statement is not so far-fetched. An 11-1 Tech would have definitely been a BCS-Buster.
