we just got screwed over by the bowl process.

Could not agree more. We aren't the only team with injury problems. Our offensive line actually was better with the young guys. We lost the Bama game because of 5 different coaching decisions of which anyone of the 5 if not made could have resulted in a win. We should have been playing Georgia. Season is an overall let down. I feel like being happy with 10-2 in this season is settling. I don't think we should ever settle. I'll let other fans of other schools settle for less.

satisfied with the season; no. satisfied that this team achieved what it was capable of; yes. even a fool can't realistically expect to replace the stars we lost and weather the injuries we had unscathed. oh wait, i guess a fool can expect that.

We were close to so much more but I am proud of our team for getting 10 wins(about to be 11) after many setbacks that can crumble a team.

I would've like the Cotton but overall, yes.

SIAP

The team stuck together and overcame some pretty major hurdles that would've screwed up a lesser team's entire season. The injury bug wouldn't leave us alone early in the season. The OL was struggling, we had a brand new QB that hadn't started a college game, we lost a Heisman finalist CB, yet the team persevered and fought hard. They lost to Alabama in the last minute of the game. The last minute, literally. They also beat a top 5 team (#3 at the time) in South Carolina, while they had Marcus Lattimore and shut him down in the game. We beat the Heisman winner (more than likely) at their stadium and shut his rushing attempts down. Something the all powerful Alabama couldn't do. Then we end with a 10-2 record.

Take that all into consideration, I'm good with it. I'm not doing the coulda, woulda, shoulda stuff. What's done is done and we as fans should be happy about it. There will always be some that aren't but that's not for me to figure out.

I'm proud of our team.

Yes-- considering there was a log jam of 10 win teams in the SEC whose only losses were to each other.

Not satisfied at all. Do I think it was an okay season? Yes. But I can never be satisfied with a season that we are favored to win the SEC and preseason #1 that ends in the Chicken Bowl with Alabama in the National Championship. That isn't satisfying in the least bit.

I think this is the second most disappointing season of Miles' career behind 2008.

I think this season will only be considered a success if we win the bowl game, as we SHOULD. If we lose, it's going off on an awful sour note. We faced some adversity once again this year, mostly in the form of our best player making a bad decision and the injury bug really destroying some parts of our team...not to mention some other off-field issues. The team has responded though, time to cap it off with a game we SHOULD win and finish this year.

Overall, it was an enjoyable season. LSU played well, improved, and the coaching staff did an excellent job. Dropping to the CFA bowl was mostly out of their control.

I think i might be tough for some fans to cope with Bama and their dynastic run.

They will go down in history as "Ali" and LSU will be their "Fraizer".

how we under achieved

Six starters out for the season and 25 regular players missed at least one entire game due to injuries or other reasons.

Your thread is an example why I am sometimes embarrassed to be an LSU graduate and fan.

A little down with regard to the pre-season hype, but that's why I hate pre-season hype. We shed starters like underwear (seemingly one a week). We showed up when we needed to and did enough to win with the myriad of underclassmen we had. 2 OL starters (mid-season), 3 DB starters (throughout), and the mysterious stomach ailment and other departures - yes, I'm satisfied with where we finished. 2nd in the SEC W (aka NFL minor leagues). That's good considering a first year starting QB.

I don't like the bowl selection, but given our success, I get the fussiness with it. I personally wish we'd have got the Gator or Outback, just to roll a Big 10 team. Don't mind Chicken Bowl, just can't stand to listen to the Clemson crap again......

Anyway, there's my rant.
