David Shaw, Chris Peterson, hell Tommy Tubberville. Look at how much Bill Snyder gets out of his teams. Do you think he has access to recruits like CLM does? What do you think he could do with a few years worth of LSU recruiting classes? There are probably several dozen coaches out there right now, that with the right staff, could step into this football program and take it to another level. Run little Nicky's arse right out of the SEC. It's been real and it's been fun Les, but it ain't been real fun. Bye.

You realize that miles and saban were big 10 guys, right?

How did saban ever recruit down here coming from michigan st? What about urban meyer from bowling green and utah over at florida?

I heard rumblings of stuff over at youngstown st., but did you ever hear of any real issues outside of tattoogate? Not sure of your hate for tressel, but he has proven himself to be a damn fine coach

Many of these have already been mentioned but they would be acceptable (not necessary obtainable) in my opinion at this time.
Gary Patterson
Jim or John Harbaugh
Chris Peterson
Dave Doeren ???
Chip Kelly
Darrell Hazell ???
And maybe Rich Rodriquez as an OC ???

Yes because hiring a coach who has been exclusively in the north and west coast at a high academic school worked out great last time.

any rum dum can recruit to florida, even ron zook. and in hindsight, urban meyer's classes weren't all that special with all those 5'10'' 180 lbs skill players, thats why their offense has been so pedestrian the last 3 years since tebow left. tebow made meyer at florida

So you have nothing of substance to offer besides, "your opinion is stupid."

Good job, Zippy

yes, tressel's past is a clear indicator that his program will break NCAA rules

i said that twice

if tressel is unavailable, maybe terry bowden will answer the phone

Is the thread where all of the frightened people wail that LSU will never be able to hire a great coach who can lead LSU to prominence?

Whew. Glad I found it.

His past? Ha! What else do you have besides the ink for jerseys crap? Jim Tressel got railroaded and I think actually lost his job because of his very poor decision to try and cover up something relatively minor. I don't think he makes same mistake again. Hell, give AD full access to phone and email revords in contract if you have trust issues.

Man has been a winner. Plain and simple. No counterpoint to that claim.

Tressel has an NCAA show-cause penalty, he can't coach the first 6 weeks of his first season and he can't coach the first bowl game.

Charlie Strong would still be better as he has been recruiting in south awhile and pulled Louisville out of depths into a solid program
