Yep. Florida is #5 in the nation in turnover margin and you want to start letting your RB's throw passes and WR's pitching or handing the ball off on reverses or hook and laterals? Ask FSU how it worked out against Florida when you turn the ball over. There's a reason Les Miles makes $3.8 million to coach LSU while you are busy telling people to keep their elbow straight.

Our plays themselves lack creativity and our play calling lacks creativity. We need better designed plays that are called at the right times to exploit a weekness or tendency that was noted in an opponents defense. That's what good offensive coordinators do. We don't do that.

and they don't call that "creativity"

I agree with the statement but this just screams "why not" in the sixth game of the season?

The disappointing aspect of our passing game is that compared to other offenses accross the nation, many times the opposing defenses "run blitzed" at least one of their safeties. This left one or no safeties, and our offensive staff could not consistently game plan to beat this week after week.
For example, when two wideouts were on the same side of the field, and the defense provided no safety help, you think we might run a few crossing routes to "rub" one of the DBs? Arkansas did this to us even though our DBs had plenty of help and we still couldn't consistently stop them. Many times, you have to be at the game to see these missed opportunities happen over and over again.
Just to name one issue with the offense. I don't have to make 4M to see this....

How about a halfback pass
Spencer Ware threw one; it was incomplete. But you probably meant a SUCCESSFUL halfback pass. They probably sent the wrong one in. Sorry.

30 points a game is not some mythical number. A&M, Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee all managed 30 ppg or more in SEC play. LSU managed 22.5 and that number is greatly inflated by the last few games of the season against teams who are in the bottom half of scoring defense in the SEC.
Yes, the offense improved as the year went on, and I hope the trend continues. But you can't lay all of the blame for a loss on your defense when the offense only puts up 17 points with 435 yards. We had red zone problems all year that meant that the defense was constantly on the hook to play lights out. I'm not surprised that they were burnt out by the end of the season, after bailing out the offense time and time again.
Look, LSU was averaging 22 PPG in SEC play. That is not enough to win every game. It just isn't. No defense is good enough to win every game when your offense is playing that badly. If your defense keeps the #1 team in the country to 21 points (I don't care how many seconds it took them to score them) then they have done a good enough job that your offense needs to be able to seal the deal. They didn't though, they put the defense in yet another must-win situation, and the defense got beat.
Maybe this had something to do with the PPG
SEC Team Record of 8 SEC foes
Auburn 40-24
Missouri 39-25
Tennessee 38-26
Ole Miss 37-27
LSU 35-29
Kentucky 34-30
Florida 33-31
Texas A&M 31-33
South Carolina 30-34
Vanderbilt 26-38
Mississippi State 25-39
Alabama 24-40
Georgia 24-40

Ok look at our red zone inefficiency. You have a 6 3 state high jump champ named Armand Williams sitting on the bench. Now the opposition doesn't have a guy who can out jump him.
Throw him a jump ball in the end zone! I mean he should be able to catch by now, with all that quality coaching. Great coaches adjust there game plan based on their strengths and opponents weaknesss. I see Chavis do it on defense all the time. I rarely see the offense vary its gameplan.
Tell me you wouldn't love to see our backs, out strongest asset, split out at WR to throw short passes to or to decoy and spread a defense out. Can you honesty ever see these coaches having the aptitude to try something like that ?

yes, I've seen it done this year. Hill motioned out vs. Bama and Clement got free for what looked to be a TD. it got called back, but we tried it.
and before you go crying, we still scored a TD on the drive.

Yeah, let's throw a guy out there in the redzone who never plays because he is tall. There's a reason he's not playing, especially in the redzone. Hell, we split Nic Jacobs out wide and tried to throw a fade to him, that should tell you what the coaches think of Williams right now.

Since they did this multiple times this season, I would say yes the coaches have the aptitude to try that. And the reason you can't tell the difference in game plan and adjustments is because you only recognize 3 plays, run, pass, or trick play.

Not a Nega tiger. Just because you yell at your kids doesn't mean you hate them. Florida went out and made a great hire at offensive coordinator. They have a lot of different looks offensively. The San Fran 49ers same idea. Our offense is so plain and predictable. We have lost all imagination on our personnel groupings and play calls. Listen if a 7 year old knows what your running 80 percent of the time, So does the other teams staff. I can't remember a single play this year where I said, "wow brilliant play call!" How about a halfback pass, a flee flicker, a hook and latter, a Statue of Liberty? I have no problem loosing a game but go down swinging. Throw everything you got at them. For gods sake loom at what other teams are doing. After all what your doing is entertainment isn't it? I would honestly rather watch old people frick than Lsu's offense this season!
Just a terrible terrible post all the way around.
Shame on you.

if you haven't noticed offensive improvement over the last 4 games then i can't really help you. Mett was outstanding (as far as what we had become accustomed to over the past 3 years) over that stretch. I'm excited about next year with all that we have returning. Mett, Landry, Beckham, Hill, Blue, Hilliard, an exp line (with Faulk back). We have some pieces I hope we can hold on to on defense, but I think we should be favored to win the west imo.
Enough with the critiquing of the offense. That was clearly better over the past 4 games.
We rushed for less yards, threw for more yards, but scored 13 less ppg.
If you can't see an issue with the offense, WTF are you watching out there?

Friend, this was my 5th or 6th post in your thread. The post to which I responded denied any need for creativity because we couldn't even execute basic plays vs UF. Isn't that also a factor in our O issues, i.e.., if 6 games into the season and we can't execute basic plays?
I'm largely in agreement with your position that there is something fundamentally flawed with what we do on O but I don't have the football acumen to say THE problem is a "lack of creativity."
I also don't understand the non-use of Armand Williams. Are his hands really that bad?

what is your experience evaluating variation or the addition or ommission of wrinkles in an offensive play?
I have a little experience in offensive football. Certainly enough to know that we lack creativity on offense.
If high school kids have little trouble with formation variation, motions, etc. I tend to think that college kids should be able to do it as well.
Just my 2 cents though.
