Gotta suck to be Alex Smith, he was 7/8 for a TD last week and 18/19 for 3tds the week before. Doesn't say he's the permanent starter...

Significantly weaker defense but going to be very loud and hostile. Pass rush has also been significantly better as of late. He's also going to have to shoot it out. Should learn a lot about him.

If it's not based on health this makes absolutely no sense at all. Alex Smith has been lights out recently and Kaepernick gets the nod bc of one good game?

It's not like Alex Smith is good or anything. I'm still shocked he's still in the league.

Smith has been accurate of late (though a lot of checkdowns) but Kaep stretched the field in one game about as much as Smith has in his best games. The upside is higher. Smith hasn't played well in the Dome historically.

I don't think it matters either way with the league's top rushing offense that lines up in 491848182 formations a game going against the worst run defense that as of a few weeks ago wasn't even pre-snap audibling.

So all that stuff about Smith being "their guy" and them not even wanting Peyton Manning in the offseason was obviously a big load of horse shite. Not that I didn't already think that but this would prove it
