Dude STFU the only reason he has a high yards per carry is b/c of 3 40 yd runs in 3 diff games
lol. cause long runs dont count
the only reason ware has a low YPC is because he gets a low number of yards on every carry.

Double D was the shite
His completeness as a back (Toefield was a runner, primarily, Dom was a receiver out of the backfield, a return man, good blocker, just a total package) is what draws some comparisons to Faulk - he didn't quite have the moves, but probably a little more power.
Dom's natural position was free safety, but he preferred to play offense. He was a throwback, skill-wise, to guys like Cannon and Casanova - he could have played virtually any position on the field, except down lineman.

Cecil was better than Hill or anyone else on this roster.

Too early to tell but he does have ability. I think Alley Broussard could have really been special...but the knee.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too early for such a statement.

1 year ago this week -- SEVERAL Rantards were ready to crown Hilliard as the next coming.
Why don't we let him play out his career and THEN assess how it measures up to Tiger greats.
I'm not slamming you... just not ready to compare a freshman that has played in about 6-7 games as "best since" a guy that is on the list of Top 10 in SEC HISTORY, that's all.

One could argue the opposite with Ware... that he is too impatient and doesn't wait for his blocking to develop. He just slams into the line most of the time. Then again, that's his role -- sledgehammer.
J.Hill's long TD run early in the Ole Miss game was one where he did not sprint through the hole immediately, but let his pulling tackle and lead blockers sort things out, then BAM he accelerated to the end zone. That 50-yarder against USCe was a thing of beauty. He found that little crease and then ripped off a sprint through the secondary.
I thought Ford had easily the best field vision and cut back skills between Ford/Hilliard/Ware last year. But, Hill is better than Ford at this.

Certainly not yet but the future is exciting.

F'in Mayans. It's over now.

kind of depends on what you mean. In terms of pure upside talent, I would say he is the best since Ally Broussard. But this is a cautionary tale, too, because it shows how injuries and a loss of motivation can derail even the most promising careers. I do love how Hill is able to combine speed, strenght, vision, and cuts.

No my point is he's not ripping off 6-7 yds every carry like people think. He will get a bunch of small gains then maybe hit a decent gain every now and then instead of accelrationg hard through the hole and making somebody miss. He's sitting at 4.9 YPC right now FYI NOT 6

He's the best back since Hilliard last November.
And Ware before that. We have a new Faulk every year.

How quickly we forget the injured....

And Blue earlier in this season.
Hill is a beast though, and his vision is on another planet from the rest of our healthy backs.
I wonder if the last few weeks he might have been hindered at all from the ankle injury he suffered at the very end of the Bama game?
Before these 2 weeks he was ripping 10-15 yard runs all over aTm, Scar, and Bama.

Is J. Hill the best since Faulk???
he is a remarkable blend of power, speed and good hands. he is leaning and hopefully his upside is huge. Ridley was a beast and what can you really say about Faulk that hasn't been said already?
I just hope that Alfred Blue gets back to full strength cause he showed real quality pre-injury. Ford needs to run more N/S and Hilliard seems, for whatever reason, to have taken a step backward. only time will tell.

I like Hill because of his vision, but I would like for Hilliard and Ford to get some more carries too. There really isn't enough carries to go around, so as long as we win, I don't care how they divided it. I think Hill has a little bit of an ankle injury that is nagging him lately. Ware is still our most violent runner, just not effective outside the tackles. Not sure what Hilliard has done wrong to be the forgotten man. Blue was on pace to have a really strong season. I hope his knee allows him to return to that form for next season.

Faulk, Cecil, and Alley are the most impressive RBs I can think of the past 20 years
