It was very good IMO. Not gonna rock your world, but solid.

It definitely has a bit of sweet maltiness to it, and bitterness with some pine notes. It's ok. I feel like I should have went with their DIPA now.

SBD. Santa Fe Java Stout
Posted on 11/14/12 at 7:36 pm to LoneStarTiger
I have a feeling this beer would be much better fresh. Just checked the label, and this beer was bottled on September 30, 2011...
guess they don't move many of these beers in the great city of Shamrock

Several of the FBD krewe have noticed a "signature" maltiness to the Great Divide ales. There is no question that their Titan and Hercules are more malty than most of the West Coast Style IPAs. I really like the DIPA--Hercules.

Absolutely sir. Sounds great. I'm in your debts for the THA rec.
TBD is a Stone Ruination.

What do you think about that Java Stout?
I've been seeing quite a bit from Santa Fe lately but haven't tried any yet

You obviously like hops. What are your favorites of the beers in the different styles you've tried so far?

Ha, that's what the guy at Smoke Stop in West Point said too. Stone IPA, Green Flash wc IPA, Clown Shoes Supa Pimp, Nola Hopitoulas, lazy magnolia timber beast, bells THA, Yazoo hop project, Sweetwater IPA, is there a theme here?
Lately I have enjoyed Sue, brother thelonius, la fin due Monde as well. I'm trying to branch out...

SBD: yazoo hop project.... Again compliments of KJong... A really good, unique brew.

Yes, you need to try other styles. My favorites are IPAs, Belgian style ales and stouts. Unibroue, which makes La Fin du Monde, makes some great Belgian style ales. Ommegang does too. Brooklyn's Local 1 and Local 2 are also excellent. As for stouts, try North Coast's Old Rasputin.

I've been called worse. Yes I am a proud hop head!
Thanks for the recs. I'm really trying to branch out. It is hard to break away from IPA's. I do love them.
