Phil Jackson was supposed to be the keynote speaker for a business conference next week but cancelled at the last minute. Maybe there is something to these rumors. LINK

Like 5 games define a season. You speak like someone who didn't see the Heat's start last season.

He may not be the greatest offensive mind, but Kobe is stupid for taking 35 shots a game, converting roughly 30% of said shots, and expecting to win a freaking game. Ron Artest needs to go too. Someone needs to tell Kobe that he needs to get over himself and that the offense should revolve around Pau and Dwight
Link to Kobe averaging 35 shots a game? Thanks.
Also, the "stare" came bc Kobe is playing through a sprained foot and Brown is running him into the ground so far this season.

I was speaking more of Kobe's proclivities. Everyone and their mother knows that he shoots the ball way too much. My point is it is completely foolish to think you can have good reason to fire a coach after 5 games.

Stephen A just said phil is at the tip of the list

More than the bad and the fire. What is really ridiculous is Mike Brown's son receiving death threats.
Come on Laker fans, resorting to death threats toward his son, disgusting.

He is only averaging 19 shots a game this season...shooting 56% percent. Yeah, Kobe was the problem...
The problem is Howard has yet to sign that extension and he has the Lakers by the balls.
Kobe has been Brown's biggest defender publicly on the team, though he shouldn't have been IMO. Kobe is the only reason Brown wasn't shitcanned after the playoffs last season.

Fired after short marriages to LA divas: Kris Humphries and Mike Brown.

SVG is not a fricking chance.
Sloan would be a great hire.
Phil would be a stopgap. The man's body is falling apart. Well documented how bad it got in his last season. Couldn't even sit on the bench without discomfort.
As far as the firing, Mike Brown is terrible. He single handedly sunk a few Lebron coached teams. He is a defensive coordinator, and even that has been terrible this year. He has lost the faith of his team. Strike that. He never really had it. The lakers' decision to cut bait now and start over is not only not dumb, it's the best move they could've made.
The goal of this team isn't to have a winning record. It isn't to not go 1-4. It's to win the Finals.
And Brown won't win you a finals.
The princeton offense is not geared to the players of this team. For the record, either is the triangle. The triangle was developed for teams that did NOT have a dominant C or PG. This team has both.
Sloan is perfect for this job. Pick and roll coach. Amazing defensive strategy. HOF cred.

This is the equivalent of firing an NFL coach in the 3rd quarter of week 1.

Last season when they started 5-0, and then 8-1?
Or 2010-2011, when they started 4-1, and then dipped to 9-8?
At no point were the Heat as bad as the Lakers have looked. In the 3rd game of the 10-11 season, the Heat throttled Howard's Magic by 26 points.
And the Mavs game they lost to put them at 9-8 was on the 2nd night of a b2b and was on the road. It's not really shocking they lost that game. People just overreacted to the Heat situation, but there's no comparison between how the Heat played and how the Lakers are currently playing. To suggest there is, is a disservice to that Heat team.
