While they are seasonably available try the Octoberfest style. My favorites are Summit, Sam Adams, Ayinger, and Paulander.

Also try Widmer Brothers and Shiner Bock's Octoberfest. Both are very good

I know they are nothing special but I really like Newcastle and Zeigenbock.
If you like Newcastle, I have two recommendations.
1. NOLA Brown is a very nice (LA brewed) brown ale. Readily available and decent price.
2. If you want to spend a little more, Samuel Smith makes a nut brown ale that may change your mind on the Newcastle.

Here's my recent selection: old raspy, Sam smith nut brown, clown shoes eagle claw, and belhaven Scottish ale. Which one first?

Sam smith nut brown was good. Eagle claw is better than Hopitoulis but still not great. Looking forward to Old Rasputin

Try Ommengang stuff especially their abbey ale.
Brooklyn No 1 and No 2 are belgian style beers.
Unibroe Maudite and La Fin Du Monde are belgian style. All Unibroe stuff is top notch.
Try some Saison Dupont. Its the standard bearer for the belgian Saison/ farmhouse style.
Westmall Dubbel is my favorite Trappist.....or maybe Orval which has a "funk" taste to it some don't like.

Solid fricking post.
"Hey guys, what's the best cut of steak?
Some DBag: A hot steak!"
Thanks a lot.

Grab some Dogfish head if you can find it. The 60 minute IPA is delicious and I'm not a huge IPA guy.
Magic Hat also has a sampler pack out right now with several beers but I would pick up a six pack of No.9 first and give it a try. Good stuff.
Go to the bulldog if you're in BR and just try a few out. If they have St. Arnold Smokey Mary on tap get it.

Clown shoes makes good stuff for the most part. Bleacorn unidragon is amazing. Hoppy feet 1.5 and pimp are both excellent as well.

Other than that, I've been unimpressed with hoppy feet 1.5 (bad/old bottle I suppose), pimp, and the Mexican chocolate stout.
I picked up porcine unidragon (sp?) which is a bourbon barrel aged blaecorn. Looking forest to drinking it on a cold night.

Thanks for all of the recommendations. It's good to see there is still a board where you can get a serious answer. Nola brown is a good cheap brown. Samuel smith nut brown was great and Old Rasputin was solid. I have to admit Chimay Blue is still my favorite. Will try the others suggested in the future.

Spaten Oktoberfest is very tasty too. I had a few of them last night.
