Question about the direction of Tiger football

We are a spoiled fan base. We have had success in the recent past and expect perfection. We have some of the best football players in the nation. We are charged fees to purchase season tickets and to park at football games that are supposed to ensure our place among the nation's elite football programs.
The future of our program is in the hands of a coach whose philosophy centers around a Big 10 football mentality where we exchange field goals for touchdowns, depend on our defense to win close games, and use tricks or gadget plays to mask our shortcomings in terms of talented personnel on the field.
In his world, any team in our league can beat us in the last seconds of the game, with one play.
Is this what we want in a coach?

We just went toe to toe with the number one team in the country. The direction of the team is fine

We are fine. Don't be such a pussy.

Do I want a coach who wins 80+% of his games and competes for a NC every year? Why would I want that kind of misery!

You're questioning the direction of the program the day after we outplayed and outcoached the #1 team in the land and were very close to making our own case for #1....?
You cant be serious...

WHO DO YOU WANT?????
We were the SEC champs last year and played for the title.
We will likely finish 10-2, 11-2 with bowl win.
We will likey have another top 10 finish.
We lost a heartbreaker to the best team in football and next year will be one of the teams on the short list to compete for EVERYTHING again.
What exactly is wrong with the direction of the program?

Without a doubt. I think they will be preseason #1 next year.

That is ridiculous, at best. You can't have it both ways - "Miles has great players, but can't coach them". Who is bringing in all this talent, and do you realize that we played last night without 8 projected starters?
Also, you can't be ultra critical of Miles' 4 bad play calls, without mentioning the other 85 positive plays. All everyone wanted was the The Hat to open up the offense as well as gamble a bit. Well he did, on both accounts. In these huge games, it comes down to 3 or 4 plays.

Idiotic post. Tiger football has never been better than under Miles.

LSU has been ranked in the top 10 in the country for almost 2 years now. We won the conference championship of the country's toughest conference last season. We have lost two regular season games in the past two seasons. We played in the BCS national championship game last season.
You're right.....we suck. We should just fire every coach and start from scratch.

Direction of Tiger Football? Right direction. I'm still angry we lost the game last night. We lost the game but gained a team that can play defense and offense. I truly feel LSU is about to play dominant football.
LSU football team, I salute you. Y'all play hard. Coaches took some gambles and they backfire but that's o.k. Coach Miles went for the jugular and I respect that. Go LSU

clearly not, we need to fire him today so we can pick up Houston Nutt or Dan Hawkins while they're still on the market...

We're an elite program. This is the golden age of LSU football. Unfortunately it happens to coincide with Bama's current stretch. Sucks.
We're good enough to challenge Bama and even win some but overall we're not as good.

Yes?
Miles is good for the program, just needs help. It could be worse, it could be better.

You have zero historical perspective. I have been going to games since the 1960's. The program has never been in better shape.
And who do you think would actually be a better coach that would come to LSU? Saban and Meyer ain't coming here. Petrino? Right--he can't recruit and we would be holding our breath every time he drives off in a motorcycle.
There is no realistic potential coaching candidate out there that would do a better job at LSU than Les. Be grateful for what we have done, what we have, and what we will have under Les-- a consistent winner.
