It wasn't the best 30 for 30, but I thought it was pretty solid. It was based on an article Wright Thompson wrote for ESPN a few years ago. It was like a 30,000 word article, and I thought it was actually better than the movie, but I'm surprised there were no other threads on the MSB.

Clearly you don't check the SEC Rant.

I avoided the secr thread

just too much ignorance in there

I thought it was rather well done. granted didn't occur at a school I root for so maybe I had a more open view

I didn't think it was bringing up the past in a bad way. Informing to me anyway

It actually made me feel kind of bad for Mississippi because most of the people were caught up on the wrong side of history and just didn't know it because they way they were raised regarding "tradition." I have to say that their football team's accomplishment that year was impressive with all that crazy bad shite going on.

The long article was better than the movie.

The football scenes were spliced in kind of awkwardly. Wasn't the best editing job, IMO.

The sensationalizing scenes in the beginning were kind of over-the-top (ie the burning cross), although I understand why they were there.

Some other commentary in the end from people such as the OM student body president was stupid and unnecessary.

I watched it. I never really knew any of that went down but ESPN could have put it together better - IMHO

Or just the epitome of racism in the 50s/60s

I thought it was a really good 30 for 30. Didn't think it jumped around. They also didn't vilanize Ole Miss or the players, just told the story.

Another gem from the SECR thread:

I had every intention of watching it but for some reason our DVR fricked up Tuesday night. I hope to catch it the next time it's on.
