I've always considered it a pretty overrated movie, so not too surprised. I'd say Freauxzen leaving off Godfather would be more surprising, particularly since he made a comment about not having crappy movies make up the top 20 for the 70s. Then he goes and leaves off two movies pretty much universally considered top 20 period, much less 70s.

I'm kinda surprised by the love for Aguirre: Wrath of God. It's definitely a movie that has some interesting moments and a great performance from Kinski, but it's a pretty uneven film to me, and not one I could see as the top 10 of the 70s.

That's the one I was thinking of volunteering my pompous writing skills for. Perhaps the movie itself is held in similar regard to my writing skills.
