He is an DE btw and no he is not given the attention the others are. He isn't given the attention the other DE is on his own team.

He's a nose tackle. He occasionally plays DE, but IN THE 3-4. A 3-4 end is pretty much a tackle.

He's been voted ALL PRO twice and to the pro bowl three times.

You officially have zero football credibility.

A 3-4 DE is practically a 4-3 DT

The last two seasons he's been listed as a nose tackle.

Previously, he' played DE...IN THE 3-4.

A 3-4 end is essentially like playing tackle.

Again, you have no credibility.

I already know i'm going to get blasted for this but i'm going to say Drew Brees... even though he gets enough air time, he's still very underrated IMO... he needs to win an MVP because he IS the team's most valuable player.. he doesn't get the credit he deserves through the media... frick, they spend more time talking about tim fricking tebow and tony romo...

without drew brees, the saints are WITHOUT QUESTION 0-6 right now

my non-homer pick would be...... well frick it, he's a saints player too (pierre thomas)

O: Sproles?
D: Pnut Tillman (finally getting some respect but overlooked for years)

As much as I dislike him, I think Big Ben is pretty underrated at this point.

So you think the most underrated NFL player is Drew Brees? He's a consensus top 4 QB in the NFL by everyone

3-4 end is nothing like a 4-3 tackle

But okay I'm not even getting into this discussion right now.

Good answer considering in all but 1 season he as eclipsed 1000+ yards. And in that season he missed quite a few games. He is incredibly consistent. Never even made a Pro-bowl.

Wes Welker would be another. I hear all the time how he wouldn't succeed anywhere else. The guy is an insane route runner. Teams know Brady will throw it to Welker, yet they can't stop him. His numbers are ridiculous, but you don't hear many list him toward the top of the receiver lists because he is a "slot"guy.

Let's have some fun with this. How about we go position by position to come up with most underrated.

I vote Romo for QB.

Considering that he plays NT right now and that 3-4 End IS a lot like 4-3 tackle...

Oh, and the fact that Ngata is a two time ALL PRO and three time pro-bowler, along with being a consensus top 10 defender in the league, the is no way he can be underrated.

You've become a terrible poster in the last couple weeks.

I don't think he's the most underrated, but Lawrence Timmons doesn't get as much recognition as he deserves. With a LB core that includes Harrison and Woodley, I think Timmons is severely overlooked on his contributions to the defense.
