Awesome episode! I really hope they don't bring in to many other vigilantes into this show.. name dropping is fun, but that's it.
That being said, this writing staff is amazing, so even if they did start dropping more vigilantes into the show, I have faith they would do a very good job of it!

Another solid ep. There hasn't really been a misfire to me yet. So far just a really good season. They continue to drop hints as to what the peripheral characters will become, but it seems like they're taking their time getting there. (that sentence was tough to type, having all three they're, their, and there)
I like that they are taking their time and building long character development arcs. It makes me think they have a real plan and know they don't have to force things.

I might have missed it, but that notebook was blank and then Oliver imagined the names on the pages?

Nah, the heat of the fire brought out the writing/invisible ink or whatever. At least that's how I took it.

And a tease. But she is hot.
This show has been very good so far. I really like how Oliver is now training Diggle. I'm interested to see more of what happened on that island to make him such a bad arse.

Gotta bump for this week's episode. Strong start.

Was that Merlin's brother or his Dad? Looks way too young to be his Dad.

Gotta be his dad since he cut Merlin off from "His Money."
Also I thought I recognized Helena as Huntress.

Yep, it took me a minute. I kept thinking Helena Wayne not Bertinelli. It's been awhile since I was a complete comic book nerd. I'm rusty.
As for Merlin's Dad, yeah it must be, but I thought it might be an older brother who was in charge of the money.

I missed the very early part of the episode. Had they revealed the dirty guy was Merlyn's dad before or was the fencing scene the reveal? Because I didn't see that coming.

If I remember correctly, ^^^^ this is the scene Merlyn called him dad.

Ok, thanks. I read the thread a little while watching and got confused on some things because I forgot it runs at 8c for me and 7c for the others in the thread.
I'm excited about the Huntress, don't know much about the character background, but I think they're doing a good job of introducing side characters.

It really makes the show more interesting, makes me want to go back and see what other references I'v missed.

Last nights episode was my least favorite so far. It was ok - possibly even decent, but not up to the previous standards.
I'm willing to bet it was the first conceived/written/filmed post initial pilot and first few episode order.
For one thing, there was no flashback - probably because they didn't have time/opportunity to film a bunch of new island scenes quickly - they'll go back and film multiple episodes worth of island scenes for future episodes, I'm sure.
Because of that, it felt like a departure of the main storyline - which is fine, but it was the first time they've had to do it, which makes it feel a little forced. Of course, this raises interesting possibilities, and the arc will clearly be about Oliver having to figure out if he's out for revenge or justice, and face the darker side of what he's doing.
Also did not like the acting of Huntress at all.
Daddy Merlyn a fencer? I see where this is going
