Yeah that was pretty cool.
Thing is even I saw it after watching ol boy for SD hobble live the play before.

It's always crazy how the announcers can see something clear as day that coaches and players that get paid millions don't. It's like when Gary nails the next play on the CBS broadcasts.
Seeing it is a way different animal than changing or fixing something.
All he has to do is diagnose something that just happened or let us in on something small beforehand- a coach actually then has to put all of that (which he's most likely seeing as well) in to action .

He is not quite as talented as Verne on CBS

gary also added "oh wait the LSU staff probably shouldn't call a rollout with mettenberger"
not only did we, but mett rolls out and there's pretty much no one even out there.

He's good and not afraid to tell it like it is with certain players too.

quote:This. Pretty sure there was a survey done among players about broadcasters and he was the most hated. Of course, who else do they see besides the Sunday night and Monday night crews? Gruden was probably the most loved because he blows the players the whole game.
he can be a bit smug, but he still knows his shite. I rarely disagree with him

When does that happen?
Dude can't even get a fumble right after multiple replays or tell you what the call on the field will be after review. He is borderline retarded.

Ray Charles saw that sack coming. The left tackle could barely stand up.

Semi hijack, but considering San Diego had timeouts and the LT had to know he could barely move, let alone protect Rivers from the DE, doesn't that guy have to stay on the ground and have the trainers come out so the coaches know how limited he is.
It is one thing to play through pain and tough it out, but it is another to not be able to physically perform. He should have allowed someone else to get in there to help the team.

Ya, he should have tried to get himself out of the game somehow. However, I don't have the rule book but I think there might be a 10 second run off or something like that for injury that late (if you don't have TOs). Chargers may have had a timeout to burn for the injury but I don't recall.

Chargers still had 1 timeout left.

Then he was definitely an idiot and cost his team a chance to win by staying in.
