Why hasn't NOLA/Sugar Bowl gotten into this. Surpising and disappointing.
Baylor and Notre Dame are playing next year in the Superdome I believe. It's just one game though and not a series type thing like the Cowboys Classic or Chick-Fil-A kickoff

Screw Texas Tech.
I can't imagine too many LSU fans would be excited about hauling their cookies all the way to Lubbock to play the biggest douchebags in the Big XII. Their fans make Florida fans seem like sweet old ladies in comparison.

the only thing i really care about is recuiting texas, and not letting other schools recruit LA
Louisiana is already heavily recruited it won't make a difference.

That's ridiculous. The more exposure schools have in Louisiana, the easier it is to recruit there.

I'm thinking Gainesville.

do we really think that in 2012, kids are swayed by team playing a game in the state? This sounds like the type of convential "wisdom" that's been repeated for so long, any maybe made some sense 50 years ago, when teams were not on TV every week, that no one bothers to question it. But I have a hard time believing there is some kid in the Metroplex that is now looking at Alabama or Michigan because they played in Dallas a month ago.

Recruits could care less where you play, who you play, and what the uniforms look like.
They look at a place that can prepare them in 3/4 years to put them in a position where they are ready for the NFL! Bottom line.

It's a week of media attention in the local market. It's the out of state team telling a recruit their friends and family will be able to see them in person, because they'll be playing here every 3-4 years.. It makes a difference. How much of a difference varies from recruit to recruit, but it has an effect.

Most kids have their mind made up. You can see every good team 6 or 7 times a year on TV.

“The media makes such a big deal out of it, and when they do, we get more national exposure,” said Ross Els, Nebraska’s linebacker coach and recruiting coordinator. “When ESPN, Sports Illustrated and all of the other national media outlets generate that kind of interest, that’s good. The recruiting quotient increases exponentially. We all know that winning is the most important thing, but when you line up all the teams that are winning, you look for a differentiator, and this (alternative uniforms) is a big one.”

Schools, who deal with recruits every day of their existance, are buying into the theory that uniforms do in fact play a role. You can disagree if you want though.

I notice that alabama has had a great deal of recruiting success of late and with the exception of Penn State they have the most unoriginal uniforms around.
I'm sure when asked, 17 y/old kids will say they like different unis and alternative jersey's are popular even with many fans, but at the end of the day I doubt Alabama is missing out on a recruit because some other team has bad arse alternative unis.

IMHO, MSU v Okie St. will be a tough game to fill Reliant with.

Wonder if they will let MSU fans bring cowbells

LSU has said for years now they want a neutral site game in Hou. Long, long overdue.
I can't think of a place I'd less rather go watch a football game. I'm sure the rest of you would go and a lot of you probably live there, but personally, I can't stand that city.

Mississippi State and Oklahoma State are finalizing a deal to open the 2013 season on Aug. 31 at Houston's Reliant Stadium, sources told ESPN.
That is a great game for Mississippi St.......if they can get a 8-9 win season this year that is the type of opening game that can do good things for a program like MSU.....assuming they don't get blown out.
