this is a paraphrase, but he said something like, "Oregon being moved to #2 shows that voters don't know a thing about going on the road in a hostile environment with an inexperienced QB and coming away with a win."

Wilbon also said Monday on the show "LSU is no good."

Really? No good?

He was defending LSU in response to Palmer saying that Stanford's front 7 was as good as or better than LSU/Bama's. It wasn't a compliment, merely a statement of fact.

Furthermore, I've seldom heard, even an ESPN crew, with more bias than I heard last night. Palmer actually compared Stanford's defense to the 49ers. They pick a team (large market usually) to decide is the best in the country. This year is was USC (surprise). then when that team doesn't turn out to be the best, they have to protect their reputations by talking up whatever team beat them.

Also, lets face it, since 07 we haven't gotten a whole lot of love out of the ESPN crew, Herbstreit especially.

Kiper has caught his share of criticism over the years, but IMO he(along with Blackledge and Brad Edwards) is one of the more level-headed objective analysts on ESPN.

While Herbstreit (as well as Holtz) has been more consistently anti-LSU than the average analyst (we've won Corso over, to a certain degree), even Herbie was a proponent of a 2-loss LSU team being in the big game in 2007

The primary culprits on ESPN I've seen is Holtz and Robert Smith (he's the worse).

ESPN is BIPOLAR towards LSU

Before the Washington vs Stanford game last night Kiper said that his National Championship was still LSU beating Florida State.

He also had Barkevious Mingo at #3 on his big board and Sam Montgomery at #4.

He said LSU struggling on the Plains doesn't matter. This early in the season all that matters is coming out with the W.
