What was/is one of you favorite bands that you were so excited to see live that turned into a huge letdown for you?

Tool. Last time I saw them. Was just the same ole stuff. And my wife's first time. She was freaked out (weird arse graphics on the monitors). I have seen them so many times, guess too many.

The second Tool show at the Centroplex was pretty lame. I was bored the whole time. Saw them later that year at the NO Arena and it was slightly better but after that I was done with this band.

WOW. That was who I had in mind (and I saw both shows) when I started this thread.

Motley Crue, Dr Feelgood Tour, back in 87(?)

Mick Mars got hit with a bottle, and left.

Show ended early.

Note to self:Never see Tool. I went to an Allman Brothers concert that was pitiful. I left after about 45 minutes.

Red Hot Chili Peppers at hangout fest in May...mainly because we got blocked in by the thousands of people that surged toward the stage as soon as Dispatch finished their set so we had to stand in the same spot for 3 hours until they came on stage, by time they came on my buzz was gone and i was sick of standing so i was pretty much over it by time they started

going to see them at lakefront on oct 4th hopefully i get better results

RHCP at hangout were fantastic. You must have not been in the right state of mind

You'll get much worse results considering they're playing at the NO Arena.

That sucks--was Gregg loaded? Some of the best shows I've ever seen were Allman Shows.

Most disappointing was Van Morrison--dude never plays to the crowd, and for someone with a catalog like he has, plays a lot of obscure stuff in whatever genre he is currently hooked on.

I guess it's better than a band that does the same show year after year...

I'm saying you'll be at the wrong building.

James Brown. Saw him in Birmingham in 2000 and he was just terrible. Most people started leaving early including me.

And DMB. Saw them for the first time at Jazz Fest a few years ago. I guess I'd heard such great things about his shows that my expectations were too high. He sounded good but the constant noodling got boring. Plus it was way too crowded.

I was never a huge fan of them but I thought they were ok. My girlfriend at the time wanted to go... Incubus. fricking awful. Phantom Planet BLEW THEM OUT.

I don't know what the issue is. They all just sat there. There was no "show".

I was at the Kings of Leon show in Dallas when Caleb left the stage after about 20 minutes.

That was the most unprofessional thing I've ever seen a band do, and it was awful.

I guess its a better story than just seeing a show though, and I got my money back, so in the long run it may not have been all bad.
