Average voice.
Yep, and she came off really badly. 'Wah, I had a Disney contract and they didn't want to Miley me yet, wah!!!'

NBC did the same shite...26 minutes into the show before the third person sang. Nothing but backstories and shite. Then they fly through three fricking picks. Ridiculous.
Once again, get Carson the frick out of the family rooms. I took pics this time, and will post them tomorrow. He shouldn't be there.
Blake's pretty funny. :Man to man...you are hot." Seems like he'd be a cool guy IRL.
Nasally country chick and mexican Cee Lo both sucked balls. Glad they didn't get picked.
The Alexis chick from NOLA has a good voice, but Go Your Own Way was a bad song choice IMO.
Just skipped through three more fricking picks. What the fricking frick, NBC. That's 6 fricking people that we saw sing for approximately 3 seconds (while being voiced over by Carson fricking Daly explaining what happened). Not only is it not fair to the audience, but it completely fricks the singers over...especially when you keep airing 10 minute backstories on people not even getting picked. frick.
Loved the I Wish It Would Rain dude. That is one of my all-time favorite songs, and he is instantly one of my favorites. David Ruffin sang that song with so much fricking soul, and this kid (only 17..wow) sang it cool, smooth, and mellow. Gave it a much different sound, and he fricking nailed it. And I agree with Cee Lo, all the young kids (and anybody here even) who haven't heard that song need to go DL it or listen to it immediately. It's one of the greatest songs of all time.

Agreed. I've known her since elementary school, played music with her, been in plays with her, etc... She has a much better voice than she showed tonight, and I still think did well.

It's really obnoxious. Maybe it's just me misremembering but I could swear it was more singing and less sob story in the first two seasons. I just don't give a frick about their backgrounds yet... maybe once they get picked and make a team and then make it a few episodes in, but for now all anyone should care about is how they sing.

- I dont go off on the back stories like Cokes does but last night was the worst with the chick that couldnt read or whatever crying about it and then it turns out that she really cant sing. Great. Thanks for that. I cringed on a few of her notes
- The Asian dude singing C-Lo was beyond awful. Why did I have to watch that?
- Young kid from Chicago was legit. I found myself really getting into his performance. The coaches said what I was feeling as well in that he put some serious feeling into that song. Great performance.
- I think Christina was relieved when the big black woman at the end finally went with Blake. I think they both wanted her at first and then she turned out to be an apparent pain in the arse.
- Dez Duron sounded a hell of a lot better than he did last year
- Chick from NOLA was meh
- Wish we could have seen Broussard from Lafayette sing. They flashed over her getting picked by Blake. 3 in from LA last night though

Picture evidence from last night of why they need to get Carson the frick out of the family rooms:
Everyone is PUMPED, and he's jsut douching there like "Hey, camera guy...can you get me being nervous and excited? Cool.."
He doesn't give a frick about these people...and to be honest, he doesn't have to. He doesn't know them, so he shouldn't care about them making it or not making it. What he shouldn't do, however, is pretend like he's getting as excited as these people are when he is a douche host and they are actually invested emotionally in the people onstage..
Go frick yourself, Carson fricking Daly.

Yeah, I'd have rather seen the ones who did make it and I agree that I don't need to know the details of back stories on the ones that don't make it or any of them for that matter. I'm not invested in any of them, yet. They need to be there a while before I care about from where they came. Apparently, we are in the minority or there is some reason why these shows feel they must show us all of this background business. I feel like I waste my time watching live. Better to tape them. I watched part of it on tape and part live last night.

I really dont mind the stories that much if they are decent. But come on, dyslexia?!?! Really? Tonight I'm expecting to hear about some guy whose dog just died or something.

I mean, she kinda milked it too. I dunno, I just wish television would quit bringing up Katrina everytime NO is mentioned.
I, like others here, don't understand why you skip over the ones who get picked, but show terrible performances.

I think it was the shitty, nasally country chick.
The worst was a couple episodes ago when the dude got someone to turn around, and Carson bends down and hugs/picks up the guy's daughter in "celebration." That pissed me off for some reason.

didnt expect brandon from chicago to pick adam. i'm glad he did blake and adam seem like the only two who take this competition 100% seriously
eta: dude from nashville looked pissed he didnt make it.

I just hope the show doesn't go full AI next season and parade a bunch of no-talent arse clowns out there for the judges to ignore and then rip to shreds. All the stupid back-story before they even audition is bad enough.

I wasnt that impressed with him but they all seemed to like him. This season has been weird - almost no 4 chair turn-arounds. It's like they hear someone and even if they think they are good they wait for who they think should be the coach for that person to turn around.

didn't expect the black lady at the end to pick Blake
