This mouth breather has shown up in yet another thread.
"mah Power ain't on so Entergy mus' not be workin! Herp derp"
You're embarrassing yourself with your ignorance.

I have no problem with losing power. But I've lived in the same place for about ten years and have a decent understanding of how storms affect the power in my area and this one just isn't adding up right now.

I'm pretty sure their priority has been getting people's power back on, not on updating the minimum wage halfwit working the incoming calls.
Is it their fault that the tip of their customer service spear is semi-retarded? Yes. But they are actually doing shite today to get people their power back.

OP, why the LSU cheerleader as your avi?

Everytime I lose power, it's never less than a week for a hurricane...regardless of location. for Gustave, I lived across the pond from the Gov Mansion...a week point 5. Katrina was 2 weeks on the Westside.
There just has to be a more efficient way to string power lines besides put the up , wait for crap to screw up then fix them again. Recycle. I find it hard to believe with today's technology we still have some dude sitting in a bucket fixing a line on a pole.

It's simple. The sooner they get power on, the sooner they start collecting money again. I doubt they are sitting around drinking coffee and shooting the shite.

So you think they went out this morning, assessed the damage, and went home for the day?
you honestly cant believe that, can you?

My parents got their power back this morning, but we talked to the Entergy guy and said that was a priority circuit because of the proximity to a hospital. My house is not too far away and I'm still without power.

Quit being a little bitch. Entergy doesn't have this almighty button they can press that will tell them exactly what's wrong. They have to visually inspect problems before flipping the switch, otherwise it can cause dangers to themselves, you, and your property. Just because you haven't seen trucks driving by doesn't mean they aren't working on the problem. It course be an issue with a feeder that is nowhere near your house.
You really expect linemen to be out working last night with the rain and wind just dying down in pitch black? No way to inspect and verify what is going on?
I can assure you that there are plenty of people that are going to be working 16 hr days until all the lights are back on. All the major companies pool resources in instances where there is major outage. You might have crews from Kansas working on getting your power back on, just like Entergy sends crews to other places to help out.
Put your big boy pants on, calm down, and be patient. And don't complain about things you have absolutely no idea about how they work. Those guys you see up in those trucks are doing something extremely dangerous.

Weather Underground? @wunderground
RT @Entergy: Our crews are working 16-hour shifts around the clock until we restore power to all of our customers.

Just got mine back on about 20 min ago. DEMCO FTMFW!
Posted on 8/30/12 at 3:28 pm to BoobieWatcher
Mine came back on at 1:30 today after going down around 2:30 yesterday. Granted, I'm a few houses away from a major street and on the same grid as BR General...

so you called after seeing the website, and getting the recording and the lady telling you the same thing as both of those is the annoying one in this story?

Engineering economics 101. There is not a more efficient way. What should they do, bury all the lines? You know how much it would cost to bury existing lines? It's easy when putting in a new subdivision. What about in cities where they can just dig a hole? Buried lines also come with a whole other set of problems and issues. I promise you the cost of burying existing lines is far, far greater than costs they spend on outages. And when I say greater, I mean greater than all costs they have ever spent on outages combined.
Maybe one day someone will have the ability to translate power in large amounts wirelessly. But until that time, what you see is what you get.

Strange. Do they live in the Parkview neighborhood?

Don't you know? She was supposed to dispatch a truck to his house at that moment, along with a limo for him to sit in until his house is online.
We seriously have the biggest group of sheltered 'me me me!!!' pansies on TD.
