Let's talk about guys drinking wine

I just opened a bottle of some $10 merlot, and it's DELICIOUS. 
The roommates gave me shite.
I'm no longer in college so I think it's ok.
Thoughts on males choosing wine over liquor or beer? Because I also have both.

$10.00 Merlots suck as a general rule.
Cheap cabs are much better than cheap Merlots.
