I know I know, it's "Baseball/Football Season & no one gives a shite about Hockey" but seriously, what the hell?

There is little common ground between the league's owners and NHLPA, led by Donald Fehr, who references 'substantial monetary gulf' estimated at $1.74 billion.

So the very small population that still cares about hockey will grow even smaller with another lockout?

Yeah.. they won't recover from this if it stretches out.
They were making some great strides too..I was rooting for them. A lot of great young stars similar (in parts) to the way the NBA is now.

Owners need to give a little here. They're being pretty ridiculous.

Who cares, hopefully they will just cancel the season..

If you don't care, why post in a hockey thread?
If the season happens, we need a hockey board to keep the trolls away.

Says a guy who has probably never even tried to give the sport a chance.

They are just barely crawling back into moderate relevance now.
If they do this shite, they may as well fold the fricking league.

doubt he knows what icing, boarding, slashing, or offsides means in hockey.

That's true shuke, no local teams, never grew up around it. Maybe one of you hockey gurus will invite me to a game and change my mind..

Lol, hockey is pretty large I would say.
The attendance last year was fantastic with 16 of the 30 teams at or over 100% capacity. 5 more were over 95% capacity. That's 21 of 30 teams in the league with fantastic attendance.
There were only 2 teams below 80%, Phoenix and Dallas, no surprises there.
To compare, the NBA had 9 teams at or over 100% capacity last year, and 4 over 95% for a total of 13 teams over 95% capacity, while the NHL had 21.
The NBA had 6 teams with under an 80% capacity, and one under 70%.
But don't let facts get in some of you guys' ways, hockey is small and no one cares about it.

Research the television money compared with the NBA and get back to us.
Attendance means next to nothing by comparison.

Season ticket holder for the Houston Aeros, let me know.

Stupid, the NBA shares it's TV/Broadcast revenue evenly, so if 20 people were watching the Nets last year, it didn't matter. I'm not going to look up individual team tv ratings, if it's even available, to apply here.

Attendance means everything, in the NBA, Arena Revenue is the only thing that is not shared.
