They'll likely reach a deal.

Both sides know the NHL can't afford another lockout, and they have started talking quite a bit lately.

Deal could come any time per reports, but they are a bit aways still.

From what I've been reading on non-mainstream websites it looks like the NHL will start playing on Thanksgiving day weekend or no season at all.

there's lots of money in hockey but not as much as the players think. they want nfl, nba and mlb money but it's just not there. the nhl has had to struggle to survive with many franchises moving. they are stable now but this is likely to hurt. the owners won the last battle and it appears they are very much playing hardball again. we'll see; they are dumb if they let it go as long as last time.
