Name one.
Then name twelve more.

It's not. Lot of evidence behind this one.

of all the dumb theories out there this is one of the least insane.

It's not the worst. I do think it's more popular for how it could tie things together rather than how believable it is.

the neck is full of crafty good old boys that get it how they live. They do not need old arse howland reed "leading" them.

Country boys can SURVIVE!! WHOO!
But seriously, they wouldn't need him to hang out there and I doubt he's just chilling at home after they killed Ned.

Agreed. Howland staying at home to protect his people sounds like bullshite to me. Also, GRRM has contrived far greater conspiracies and plans than this one. The only hole I see is the religious one: the Seven vs the Old Gods. That would be hard to pull off.

For sure!
I would love this scene to happen ending with Ned seeing Lyanna with the baby, and then cut to Jon opening his eyes, and then the opening credits.
It won't happen like that but they could end the TOJ scene and cut to Jon being brought North to a Weirwood to be burned by Edd

Nice post.
Didn't think reading a book could ever make me cry, but I think I will if she dies.

I absolutely will. Harder than you will. Luckily, hasn't GRRM already said he won't be killing Arya?'
Posted on 8/13/15 at 11:21 pm to FT
I think he's said that, if he does kill Arya, it won't be until the end since she's his wife's favorite character.

Theory on Arya's Ending
So many feels thinking back on her story, and this theory is amazing.
That guy is my favorite ASOIAF theorist, and I think he may be right. Arya's arc is the one I'm most clueless on where it can go, with the exception being I know it's going to be defined by tragedy and that she can not go back to being Arya Stark and get married. I do think that if Arya is killed and transferred to Nymeria, it would be a bittersweet end for the character.

Both book readers and show watchers are in unison for having Arya as one of their favorite characters. She is easily mine. I would be more than okay with that conclusion. After she kills her list in some awesomely horrific ways..

I don't know if I actually believe HR = HS but I definitely think it's plausible and I hope it's true. I love that the HS hasn't actually declared Tommen king.
Also, in one of GRRM's interviews he's asked about Jon being absolved of his vows and says "I guess that could happen, were someone to have that authority." Currently the HS is the only one who has that authority. It would fall in perfectly if he is HR and the only one who knows who Jon is.
Now, to get crackpot with it, one thing I want to happen. I'm pretty firm in the Arthur Dayne still being alive camp, because why not. So, if the HS is indeed Howland, and Arthur Dayne is still alive. Maybe Howland is going to name him as the faith's champion? This is just a gut prediction/theory, but God I hope it works out.

I'm currently reading the wheel of time series and it seems like George may have borrowed quite a bit of material from this series for GOT. If you guys get a chance and have a fantasy itch this series is really good.

Westeros.org is reporting that Ian McShane, notably from Deadwood, will be joining the GOT's cast in what is being described as a small, but key, role.
Any guesses on this character? I actually checked his height: 5'9". A little tall for Howland Reed, but I doubt that actually matters for the show.
Too short for Sir Dayne, though.
He's typecast as a villian; I think he would make a great Euron Greyjoy.

Want to guess how I know that you haven't been keeping up with this thread?
