I agree with what you and OMLandshark said. I think that a lot of book readers are underestimating Sansa, and that 'controversial' chapter in TWoW is going to be amazing. There has to be a reason that GRRM decided to push her ADWD chapters back to book 6; I imagine that the controversial chapter is going to be a major catalyst for future events to come.

Lady's death
Ned's death
Being cast aside by Joffrey
Rob's death
It didn't really sink in until boarding the boat to flee King's Langing. She has been a different person and one that will play a big part in the final part of "The Game of Thrones".

I have a question:
What do y'all think the significance of Tyrion meeting Jon and going to the Wall in AGOT with him is, and how does that tie into meeting Faegon and (about) to meet Dany?? Will he bridge alliances, tell Dany about her crazy father, find out that Jon is Rhaegar's son?? Will he switch allegiances?

That's making the assumption that Rhaegar didn't secretly marry Lyanna. It wasn't uncommon for targaryens to have multiple wives.

True. Now the question to be asked is how were they married? The seven? Or the Old? If the Seven, find the septon.
Quick highjack: Belle, are excited about next Wednesday on AMC?

Some book readers think that Septon Meribald married Rhaegar and Lyanna, under a Weirwood (tying both religions together). That is pure conjecture though, but anything is possible. Plus some Targs practiced polygamy, like BluegrassBelle mentioned. Rhaegar was in a political, arranged first marriage and his wife could no longer have children/probably not have sex either. I think that he and Lyanna acted somewhat impulsively (especially since Rhaegar was driven by prophecy) without thinking fully about the consequences of their actions...

I think Rheagar and Lyanna were wed in front of a Weirewood, but that's just pure conjecture.
The "find the septon" idea is intriguing and could make for an interesting plot device. What if the new High Septon (the one with all of the sparrows and the Faith Militant) had conducted the ceremony. Then, he could be in the perfect place to vouch for Jon if he ever realized who he was.
However, I don't believe Jon will ever reign as King. He will follow in Aemon Targaryen's footsteps and live out his days as a man of the Knight's Watch. He will hold no lands and father no children, but he will shield the realms of men from the darkness and be victorious.

Well I'm on my first reread so I'm going to look for more clues.

At the very least Tyrion understands the pitiful conditions the Night's Watch is in. So if he gets word that there is a white walker army or something similar descending on the Wall he'd be in heavily in favor of advising Dany or whoever to send assistance.

Yeah, I can see that or maybe Tyrion advising Dany to go to the Wall instead of playing the GoT.
Also, I don't think the Wall is going to be around much longer, therefore the Nights Watch will disband. No way that Jon returns to it and his 'death' is a way for Jon to leave the NW and attend to other matters in the North. I also think he's going to get with Val .

If he believes any of that. Wasn't Tyrion acting Hand when Thorne brought the wight hand down? Tyrion basically dismissed him.

It was Alister Throne who brought it though. If it had been Jon Snow, then Tyrion would have seen him immediately.

Boooo kingbob boooooo.
I think Tyrion will be the one to figure out R+L = JS first. His interaction with him will help him along in some way. The trip to the wall was just a way for Tyrion to be introduced to a ficticious story that he is so incredibly able to poke holes into. How else do you write someone's genius besides letting them figure out something that everyone else has just been staring at blindly?

Jon could have potentially "lived out his days" already. Thereby fulfilling his oath to the Night's Watch. Then he would be free to be King.

Maybe it's because I'm a straight female and Jon is my absolute favorite character in the series, but I don't see him remaining celibate; sorry. If anything, Ghost took a liking to Val and I think it shows what Jon thinks of her in his subconscious. He also knows about the Wildling rules of 'stealing' and I think he knows that the Wildlings know that he "stole" Val, and with her consent. I subscribe to the theory that Val and her sister Dalla were priestesses somehow, and are regarded higher in the Wildling society. I think she's allowed herself to be 'stolen' because she wants to be with him and is letting him take his time to realize it. With the NW being in disarray and with Jon either being temporarily dead/in a coma/in Ghost that he's going to be free from his vows.
Besides, once the Wall falls, there's no point to the Night's Watch. I think that once the Wall falls a lot of them are going to haul arse out of there, vows or no vows. The Others are coming for everyone.

Do you really see Jon resigning his position as Lord Commander and forsaking his oaths on a technicality? That's just not who he is.

There are two technicalities: one he will be reborn. Secondly he swore his vows under an untrue name. Plus whose to say that the Others won't be utterly destroyed, and thus there will be no need for the Watch?

Yeah, there's no way that Jon stays Lord Commander after they tried to assassinate him. I think that means that they want him gone.
Seriously though, I think Martin did this as a way to bring Jon back into the fold/leave the Wall in a way that doesn't make him look bad/out of character, if that makes sense.
