1. Vote of seniors and juniors (since seniors won't be around for next season)

2. WEEKLY drug screenings until he leaves LSU

3. Focus his community involvement on illegal substances and showing kids how he almost pissed it away and is making most of his last chance.

shut the frick up. you have no clue how the team would view miles letting someone they all like back. Also its not like he is walking back on the team and starting against north texas. He would have had to earn his way back on this team by sitting out a year and then proving he can still play and is committed to this team.

C average during the next/current 2012/2013 school year.

random tests thereafter, same as any previous failed case.

He just needs to go to the NFL and puff it up and get paid. Nobody in the NFL gives a shite about him they just want him to win.

Evidently LSU was not important enough to TM to keep him from puffing up so he needs to roll on to the TM show, it's all about him!!!

1. Never.
2. TM's remorse is a little disingenuous at this point.
3. Lastly, those that suggest weekly or daily drug tests...how would that make a difference? He's already demonstrated his degree of self control. That's all we'd need the week before an Alabama game, for TM to piss "hot" and become a distraction.

Don't break any more rules or you are off the team permanently.

I understand that he is currently at treatment facility having arrived yesterday and wants to return to LSU once the dust settles and has taken care of business. He is very upset over actions and the results.

CLM looks bad in your eyes whether he kicks him off the team or allows him to stay. Good thing a USC's fans opinion doesn't mean shite.

Good post. Well said.

For me, he'd had to submit to drug screens and I'd have to sense that he's got his head right. A sabbatical may just be exactly what he needs right now to keep from screwing up big time;from completely self-destructing. Perhaps weekly counseling.

I think that if he is willing to sit out a year, he should be considered to try out for the team just like anyone else next year. What a great story that would be. Maybe he's not just interested in the NFL, maybe he really wants to play and feel like he owes LSU...

That's actually not necessary, physiologically speaking. Monthly screenings would suffice.

You also have to keep in mind that he would no longer be a scholarship athlete, so these screenings would be purely voluntary on the part of Mathieu. No other LSU students have to submit to drug screenings unless they work for the University.

Remember: If he stays he will be a regular student just like everyone else. I am pretty sure that the university cannot drug test a student just because...

Correct, unless he has a university job. Otherwise, the screenings would need to be voluntary.

Hed be sitting out a year. You think hes just gonna jump to #1 on the deoth chart? Bull shite. If he fricks up he is gone. Hes already been replaced. Its not like if we lost him fir bama his year.

This just could be all wishful thinking. But if its pot, weekly drug test. Comm service, counseling, maintain your grades, maintain working out, drug and alcohol courses, hed just be a normal student that got a dwi or something.

Jesus Christ, guys. I understand you guys live and breathe by the "team" mantra, but everyone needs a wake up call. He's a 20 year old kid. Getting suspended for one game is a lot less threatening than seeing that the team can and will move on without you. Not to mention, you guys act like he was smashing rails in the bathroom before practice. He smoked weed. Is it against the rules? Yes. Is it a big deal? No. It's certainly less of a big deal than being investigated for battery.

If he chooses to sit out a year, pay his own way, keep his nose clean, and try to earn his spot back, I'd let him take a shot. It's not like Les Miles would be saying "Oh, okay, it's fine. No harm done! All is well!" He has a choice to take the easy way and go play elsewhere or try to sit out a whole season just to earn a chance play for LSU again. If he chooses the latter and owns up to his side of things, he deserves a shot.
