I'm only referring to films in which he directed. I'd rank them like this:
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Inglourious Basterds
3. Resevoir Dogs
4. Kill Bill Vol. 1
5. Kill Bill Vol. 2
6. Jackie Brown
7. Death Proof
I'm hoping Django lives up to the hype, because it looks like it will be incredible.
How would the MTVB rank QT's films?
1. Pulp Fiction
2. Inglourious Basterds
3. Resevoir Dogs
4. Kill Bill Vol. 1
5. Kill Bill Vol. 2
6. Jackie Brown
7. Death Proof

Yeah me and a few others here. I'm aware it's not the popular choice.

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a good movie. I thought Robert Forster was great.
Honestly, I would say the biggest drop off in his movies comes between Death Proof and his other six.

I've never seen Death Proof and probably never will. But I understand why he made it and it was probably pretty fun for him.
The easiest decision for me is putting Jackie Brown last. After that it gets hard. That's what she said. I'd probably count them down like so...
5. Jackie Brown
4. Reservoir Dogs
3. Pulp Fiction
2. Inglorious Basterds
1. Kill Bill 1&2 - I have to count these together. If I had to separate, then Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds would be ahead of Vol 1. But combined they would be my favorites.
I like all the movies listed so that is not a knock against any of them but more of a testament to tarantinos awesomeness. There are a lot of people around here that think Kill Bill 1&2 are super overrated/his worst films. But I love how it almost plays out with an anime feel to it. I'm not even an anime guy. I just like the realism but also the extreme exaggeration thrown in there half the time too.

I liked Vol. 1 more than Vol. 2, simply because the Bride kicked so much arse, but Vol. 2 did provide the necessary backstory.

I like Tarantino mostly for his dialogue.
Therefore, the films are ranked accordingly. The pure violence ones which feel like parody are his weaker efforts IMO.
Obviously I like his earliest work the best.
If he had directed True Romance, it would be up there next to Reservoir Dogs.

I literally just finished watching this movie for the first time. I agree, great movie.
And about dialogue, couldn't agree more. It's what makes him my favorite director/writer. And the fact that he can get the audience to find usually serious matters hysterical..it's brilliant.
