Besides, there's too much talent on our team for anyone to be overrated. Someone else would simply steal the spotlight.

Hilarious they built him up and now try to tear him down.

This. TM7 hit the scene hard on a tear thats almost impossible to match week in and week out, so when his play levels out, he's "overrated".
Of course it doesnt help he was picked on a bit in the title game.

No shite. You don't become one of the nations most recognized defensive players by being overrated unless you are David Pollack.

great. Now he will see it and think he needs to tweet his own defense.

Latimore on the list too.
Ok this list is officially retarded.
Lattimore is one of the hardest backs in the nation to tackle, and when given the carries, puts up 200+ yds per game

just more fuel for the honeybadger.
and like others have said his play in the nc wasn't that bad. Aj made some great throws in the perfect place that no one would have been able to defend

NFL "insider" who knows nothing about the NFL.
Lulz. That's like being a weather man with a fine arts degree... Well that's like being ANYTHING with a fine arts degree.

To the rest of the SEC...if you carry the football, you'd better hold on real tight when TM7 is on the field. Honey Badger takes what he wants!

Yeah, I guess all overrated players have resumes similar to this

His 8.8 YPA in a seven-game analysis of the toughest passing offenses LSU faced last year (of which Mathieu played in only six because of a suspension) was higher than the YPA marks posted by Morris Claiborne (7.5) and Tharold Simon (3.6) in those same contests. Mathieu didn't make up for the higher YPA in the interception department, either, as his two picks were only equal to Simon's interception mark and were far behind Claiborne's team-leading six picks. Mathieu's big-play potential on special teams would certainly warrant his selection as a top player in that area, but when it comes to cornerback play, his history says he is more apt to give up a big play than he is to make one.
I'm not linking the whole page, because I know thats not looked highly upon, but this is what they say about Tyrann.
KC Joyner is a spreadsheet guy, and not a very good one at that. He tries to replicate what FootballOutsiders and ProFootballFocus does, except his stats are very meh to say the least.
Posted on 7/25/12 at 6:29 pm to Les Cajones
No one can really take this seriously. Tyrann Mathieu is the best player in college football.
Posted on 7/25/12 at 6:47 pm to Jcorye1
Even his statistical analysis is flawed. He's trying to compare tyrann's stats to mo and tharold like they all play the same position. Anyone with some common sense knows nickle back is the hardest position to cover from. (ask Danny McCray)

I've never heard of him either. So I took to the Google machine and typed him in. Some of hits on the first page include:
-KC Joyner is a pretentious "blogger" who hates Peyton Manning
-KC Joyner says Tony Romo a top 5 NFL QB (this is from May 15th of this year)
-KC Joyner says Mike Wallace is better than Calvin Johnson
Just because he gets to put those 4 letters under his name doesn't give him credibility. Looks like he's trying to be another "bad guy" for when Skip Bayless retires/dies/gets beaten by an NFL player.
Sounds like another Paul Finescum. Just tries to get a rise out of folks.

I wouldnt argue with the article. It's probably true ... He's very overrated .. Good player but not superstar caliber...; can't get lucky fumbles forever
