I'm only seeing stuff in Spanish so I'm guessing this is coming from his agent.

quote:

Ayon was traded to the Orlando Magic last week and has no plans in the future of this franchise in the NBA. Therefore, it can be expected to be cut in the coming days and is released in the market. In that case, your destination is the Fuenlabrada, which is the owner of their rights as Ayon is no contract and may sell it to whoever you want.

quote:

Real Madrid was the most advanced club had interest in hiring Gustavo Ayon, but the Mexican power forward has since yesterday two 'girlfriends' more. This is Barcelona and Efes Pilsen Turkish.

As we had yesterday on this site , the Orlando Magic player may be free in the market in the coming days, perhaps on Tuesday. But their rights are for everyone from Mad-Croc Fuenlabrada. Therefore, you have to buy them fuenlabreño club, where the Madrid process has slowed.

So that preseason game between the Hornets and Magic in Mexico City may not feature El Titan.

That sucks. I can't believe he couldn't stick. Hell, we could have used him for depth at C.

Maybe Ayon didn't want them, or maybe he didn't even want the NBA. He hit the wall pretty hard last season. Was his conditioning really going to get much better? He's in his late 20s. It might have been more work than he wanted to put in just to be a bench player where in Europe he could be a franchise player in a stable situation with a new baby.

Do you really think they did that trade to get the coveted Mexican?

I kid. To dump Anderson's salary to start fresh.

He definitely did hit a wall at somepoint last year. I like the guy, but it wasnt even a full season.

Sucks that Ayon didn't stick, as I liked him as a contributor, but at least he served a purpose for us on the way out as a trade asset.

You know, at least this keeps Goose a Hornet4Lyfe. Now I can rock my Ayon jersey out to dinner whenever I please.

Sebastian Pruiti was either trolling like hell that day or just a total moron, because he called that trade a "BIG WIN" for the Magic.

Did they get a nice trade exception? That's probably why they did it.

Probably. They simply didn't have the space for Anderson.

But Pruiti said, "Whoa, they got Gustavo Ayon. BIG Win."

He then tweeted multiple tweets extolling the greatness of Goose.

Goose is a fine player, but come on.

who was on here saying Ayon's upside is more than Anderson's? Nevermind he's 3 or 4 years older and way less productive.

They could have done the S&T for a top 58 protected 2nd rounder and gotten an even bigger trade exception. Does not make sense that the Hornets would not have kept him unless he already told the Hornets he wanted to go back overseas.

Ayon was garbage. I don't know why everyone fell in love with him.

Wang Zhizhi on the Mavericks was the first Asian basketball player and I didn't hear anyone rave about him. If he's the best Mexico has to offer that is very telling of the state of basketball in Mexico. If he was 20 and played the way he did I might have hopes for the guy but at 27 he doesn't have much potential left except being a hustle guy.
