Still waiting on the link to the report itself but another damning link: LINK

quote:

The evidence shows that these four men also knew about a 1998 criminal investigation of Sandusky relating to suspected sexual misconduct with a young boy in a Penn State football locker room shower. Again, they showed no concern about that victim. The evidence shows that Mr. Paterno was made aware of the 1998 investigation of Sandusky, followed it closely, but failed to take any action, even though Sandusky had been a key member of his coaching staff for almost 30 years, and had an office just steps away from Mr. Paterno’s. At the very least, Mr. Paterno could have alerted the entire football staff, in order to prevent Sandusky from bringing another child into the Lasch Building. Messrs. Spanier, Schultz, Paterno and Curley also failed to alert the Board of Trustees about the 1998 investigation or take any further action against Mr. Sandusky. None of them even spoke to Sandusky about his conduct. In short, nothing was done and Sandusky was allowed to continue with impunity.

Erase Paterno from the record books and dismantle the PSU athletic department. Vacate every football win after 1998.

Edited the OP to now include the Report. Never thought there would've been the day where I would've preferred BK Bobby to have the All-Time Wins Record over anyone but man do I wish they would clear out "JoePa" from every single record book.

"NO DONT FIRE PATERNO! ITS JOE PATERNO!"

Who didnt see this coming? Honestly? I think the only ones that are affected by this are most Penn St. people, because they were clearly in pure denial, and their attitude towards this situation overall just showed how this was possible in the first place.

Raping kids >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> not doing as much as you should have.

That what it seems like the sentiment on this board is.

I agree they should take down Penn State for this

I'll read all the details later, but I've changed my stance on this whole PSU situation (in terms of institutional control, and I was no JoePa defender here either). frick them all

From the Timeline:

June 1999:
* A retirement agreement with Sandusky is reached, including a unusual lump sum payment of $168,000, an agreement for the University to “work collaboratively" with Sandusky on Second Mile and other community activities, and free lifetime use of East Area Locker Room facilities.

July 24, 2001 (after the infamous shower incident):
* Schultz leads a transaction to sell a parcel of University property to The Second Mile for $168,500 – the same as the University’s 1999 acquisition cost.

If that isn't an invitation for the NCAA to get involved, I don't know what is.

If I was the President of a university and PSU was on my upcoming schedule - the game would be cancelled.
