Mamas kitchen is one of the greatest missed things in BR. I hear that she does occasional cooking at some place out by Plank. If someone offered her a place near campus the older crowd would beat a path to the door, and the younger people would stop going to crappy assed chain restaurants in a while. Six to seven bucks for a meal that you can eat from for two-four meals is a students friend. As to the best now, "The table is Bread" would be the answer that a sane person would walk in to.

Dorothy's on Gardere is legit
Best sweet tea in the universe (i think they add vanilla )
Table is Bread is also good, but Silver Moon Cafe is something that gave the university area a touch of culture and deliciousness that is now sorely lacking.

D Jon's. It's where The Place used to be on Florida Blvd. Get the soul-food buffet and wear your most fly outfit.

Mama and I are friends, I wrote a restaurant critic of her place off Nicholson years ago. It was on the wall for years. She gets some of the best inhalables in BR.
