I fished leeville today. 3 reds. Lots of 11" trout. Water was high but is dropping fast with each tide

I am stuck going back and forth between dropping a couple hundred on a 12’ used paddle Kayak just to get my feet wet on kayak fishing or just biting the bullet and dropping a couple grand on a pedal Hobie.

I've got a 2015 Hobie PA14 for sale. If you're interested, give me some contact info and I can send you pics and details.

Went down there on Saturday afternoon to fish the falling tide. Took home a decent little mixed bag....2 reds, a drum, and 7 trout. Lost another pair of reds that got off in the thick grass

When I launched around 1:00, the floating dock was higher than the bulkhead.

I read somewhere that fishing is closed until they can assess the area.

I was there at 6:00 am. The floating dock was higher and there was ankle deep water in the parking lot.

Lol, I thought about Cypremort Point on Sunday. Here is what the Lafayette Kayak Club posted today.

quote:

A note to anyone fishing this weekend's Speck and Redfish Cup. The boundaries have been revised to *EXCLUDE* those waters within Cameron and Calcasieu parish. At this time the state is asking that anglers remain off the water in Cameron and Calcasieu parish until a full assessment of the damage caused by Hurricane Laura can be evaluated. Any participant fishing within Cameron or Calcasieu parish will be subject to disqualification.

Yea I was kinda iffy on that decision. We couldn't really find anything that clearly said yes, and couldn't really find anything that clearly said no so figured it may be best to exclude it just incase.

The Point should start producing really soon, so it very well may be worth a shot this weekend but will likely be crowded as usual this time of year.
