The 34-year-old Northern California native is a former engineer at Apple who left the computer giant at 25 to start his own company. Today Pera owns a reported 64 percent of the Ubiquiti Networks he founded and operates the company out of Taiwan as well as San Jose. They did. The cheap idiots just fricked it up.

I wasn't even aware they were being sold.

Cannot imagine being 34 and owning a pro team. Wow.

that dude's pockets weren't that deep from what I gathered. that was where they fricked up. I want me a Cuban type, pretty much what it looks like the Grizz just got.

He wasn't OT rich, but I would take pretty much anyone over that group of idiots. I can't wait until they screw up trading Smith and either let him walk in FA or let him go for a bag of stale peanuts and an old foam #1 finger.

I hope this guy is willing to spend some money. If so this will be a great move for the Grizz

he wasn't actively selling them, but it was known that they were available for the right price, which apparently Pera had

As long as he is willing to spend and unwilling to relocate, I like this.

Well thank God we have a new Mark Cuban in the league.

Heisley has been looking for a buyer since day 1.
Props to Mike though, he's turned down a handful of suitors who wanted to move the team out of Memphis. His primary condition was always, keep the team in Memphis.

I'm worried about this. He lives in San Jose and theyve been wanting an nba team for awhile.

Literally all of this guy's wealth is from taking his company public, which has a current total market cap of just north of $1.0B after getting absolutely obliterated over the past month and falling from $35 to $13. The Company has only been public for about 9 months, has just okay growth and generally pretty start-up-y financials in general. Given that outstanding shares are north of 90MM and the float is under 12, suffice it to say he didn't cash out and his net worth is completely dependent on the market value of the stock which he still holds, which is roughly 50 percent of the company (eta: mind you its not like he can just dump all of his stock if he feels like it). This is not Mark Cuban, I'm not even sure if the NBA should approve this deal, this guy absolutely does not have the liquidity or financial capacity to buy and run this team much less spend money or sustain any kind of losses, which I'm sure they're producing.
