After the combine this weekend, people will fall in love with different guys.
After the next round of workouts and things start to fall into place as to who will be picked where, people will fall in love with different prospects.
Its just the way it is. Waves of different flavors of the week.

Haha. I really like all those guys. Think they can all be solid on this team. Lillard has been my first choice for a while, but I think he will be gone

Yeah and like I keep saying in other threads, Okafor's contract has morphed from "one of the worst in the league" to "palatable" in that he's only got 2 years left and is pretty much a plug-and-play starting 5, something that could be insanely valuable to a Miami or Boston or San Antonio team who is trying to win a title immediately. I think we could easily turn Okafor into a good 6th man plus some young filler in early 2013 as long as our other bigs stay healthy and developing well.

Yeah ... big works and so does a scorer like Lamb or Rivers for the same reason as having two bigs. They can play with Gordon as both Gordon and Rivers or Lamb can shoot. Then the Jones' argument is they can play the 4 can guard that 3/4 hybrid that people are using late in games ... see Durant, Leonard, James/Battier ... or even match up with the 4's with range such as Ibaka (is becoming), KG, Diaw. It isn't about he is a 5, he is a 4, he is a 3 ... so on anymore. It is all about fit fit fit with what you have offensively and defensively. That is what will win championships.

I agree with a lot of what you posted. My dream scenario would be for T Jones to pan out as a 3/4 combo, keep Kamen at C, dump Okafor and Ariza.
Vazquez/Jack
EG/Belli
Aminu/T. Jones/Xavier
AD/Landry??/Smith/Ayon/T Jones
Kamen/Smith/AD
Legit playoff contender right away.

i think i will be happy and pleased with just about any of the #10 possibilities.

I know you just can't wait for Drummond to fall to the Hornets

Same here. No matter what, whoever it is at #10, he has to pan out. Still some luck/uncertainty with any of them there.
I just think T Jones looks like an NBA player already, whatever that means.

It honestly wouldn't bother me too much if we picked him up at 10, but I think Lillard would be a much better option for our franchise. I would have wanted to kick a puppy and punch a kitten if we hadn't gotten #1 and picked him with the second, third, or fourth pick, though.

He's the kind of PG the team needs--a distributor
See, I believe the opposite is true. Because Gordon handles the ball like he is the pg, I think they need a shooter at pg, not a distributor.

Exactly, having two talented big man is one thing, having two talented big men that can coexist on offense is another, but having two talented big men that can actually complement each other makes you a title contender
Yep, which is why I think the Sullinger pick makes a ton of sense. He compliments Davis better than anyone else they could get at that pick. Zeller is not a bad option either, cause he can score some down low.

Henson is a horrible fit with Davis. I don't get that one.
Jayjay, I never was on board with Rivers. I think Lillard, Sullinger, and Zeller make the most sense.

I really do agree with this mindset. JJ is a good starter and Vasquez is a great distributor off the bench. No point in throwing a 10th pick at a wildcard when the position is already solid. I love the idea of drafting two bigs because I can easily see Vasquez improving to become a low end starter. All you need is a solid distributor if the rest of your team is in place.

Totally agree. A pure distributor works for a team with multiple, varied scoring options.
Right now, we essentially have one, and he needs someone that can do multiple things, score, move without the ball and score without needing the ball at all times.

Well with the way lilliard plays, he might be that guy. Westbrook type I guess. If that's what you are going for.

IMO we need a
driver
3 pt shooter
distributor
Post up guy
Pnr guy (who can hit mid-range jumpers)
Defensive specialist
Eric is the driver/3 pt shooter(kinda), Vasquez eventually becomes the distributor, Zeller is the post up man, Davis is the pnr guy+more.Ariza is the defensive specialist.

While Westbrook had better assist totals coming out of college, he was playing with far, far better talent. Lillard was playing with no one.
I think Lillard has a more developed PG game and he had a far better turnover margin.
Westbrook, on the other hand, was much more of an elite "talent".
