Everyone knows of vodka, gin, tequila, rum, and the many varieties of whiskey, but what others are out there?

There's absinthe and ouzo(similar to absinthe and siblings with raki, Arak, aguardiente, sambuca, etc).

Not sure what else is out there. Can anyone feed hmy curiosity?

Port is an extremely overlooked gem.

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but I'll pass on the Grappa. I'm not a fan of turpentine.

I always considered port as more of a wine. Guess it could go either way really.

Amaros - Italian bitters - are a personal favorite. Averna and Montenegro are the best (IMO) but can be hard to find stateside. Ramazzotti (NOT the mint variety) is a recognizable and easily accessible amaro.

The perfect drink after a good meal - Neat.

Aquistipace in Covington has pisco. Pisco Sours are delicious this time of year. It is a Peruvian drink made with fresh squeezed, limes, simple syrup and shaken with egg with to a froth, top with angostura bitters and a dash of cinnamon.

Chinchon is awesome. It is made with anise, like ouzo but taste much better.
