I go to the SEC Tourney in Hoover every year but I seem to keep eating at the same places....On Tap for the beer selection, Jim N Nicks for BBQ and Five Guys for a burger..... I am looking to step outside of the box this year. Anyone have suggestions for local spots in or around Hoover/Pelham, AL

Have fun, I will be in B'ham next week on business, but I refuse to support that joke of a tournament that should be rotated. I don't know why they just don't move the SEC offices to Tuscaloosa and save a lot of gas.

Not much in Hoover. Definitely nothing in Pelham.

If you're willing to drive (at the most) 20 minutes away from the stadium, I'd check out:

Saws in Homewood (best BBQ in town)
Silvercoin Indian (Indian food in Hoover that is got-damn delicious)
Gianmarcos in Homewood (great Italian, but really expensive)
Saigon Noodle House (Pho, cheap, and fast - considered Hoover but far from the stadium)
Mr. Chen's (Authentic Chinese that will change your view of Chinese food. In Hoover. Cheap)

Tortugas Pizza in Hoover has great deep dish pizza.

Saw's is bad arse!
Moe's and Deamlands are downtown.

Checkout flip burger in the summit. Great view and interesting "burger" menu.

For something different, try Klingler's European Cafe and Bakery for breakfast or lunch. It's in Vestavia Hills.

Strong suggestion on Nabeel's.

In Pelham, Nino's serves up some mean fast-Italian, with a side of Bronx smack-talk from co-owner Walter Caron. And the other co-owner? Eli Gold. Nino's

You have to hit The J. Clyde. Fantastic craft beer bar with some good food as well.

Burger topped with a fried green tomato:

Try the new Legacy BBQ and Brew right there on 150 - 2 minutes from the stadium. The food is outstanding and they have over 20 brews on tap.
