I don't get that either. Not sure what is so ignorant about wondering why someone would just kill random animals. And I hunt a lot and kill my share of good eating critters.

I'm sure it's more about the hide than the challenge of the hunt, but I don't know much about zebras.

I have no desire to go shoot random animals in Africa. Who wants to shoot a lion, an elephant or a zebra?!? Those are magnificent animals. I would love to go a safari just to watch the animals. I would imagine a lot of these are canned hunts just like here in the U.S.

+1, I would still love to see Africa. A couple of weeks to travel, a camera, and guide would be ideal for me...

We had a thread about this awhile back that was discussed in great length. Don't have the time or patience to go through it again.

Well, if we were going to shoot something, and feed a village, and I got to eat something new... I would be all over it.

But honestly, some of these lion hunts are just nuts. Like the one in the .gif that's posted. I've seen that vid before, and there are other similar ones. frick that noise.

Elephants too. NO thank you to the trampling and stomping of my body.

Yeah. I think I'd much prefer a photographic safari in most cases myself, as well.

If that were true, I would slaughter a herd of them.

If you're going for top 5 dangerous game, make sure the dastardly Dick Dick is on your list. (why anyone would want to shoot one of these is beyond me, oh, and minimum caliber is 375 H&H magnum)

Lots of things can and will kill you in Africa, there is a reason why there is a special list with 5 names listed...

Looks like i'm on board with most of you, just no desire to kill zebra, lion, tiger, leopard, etc. whatever else. Maybe a big water buffalo or something? Apparently, for the right price, you too can harvest a trophy giraffe:

But why?? Nonetheless, caliber suggestions?

20 foot ladder and a machete. That's the only props you'll get from me.

I'm on the fence about shooting big cats, anything else is fair game for me though.
