While a lot of Bama and SEC fans used the worst loss argument in 2011, I'm not sure that was the deciding factor for actual voters

whatever the factor was that they used, it was different than before and was done solely to put the SEC in the game. also, it appears that these voters get together before the vote and decide on the criteria they will use for that year. or at least it seems some people believe the above to be how it works.

This is it...precisely. This attitude.

Or you treated certain people the same collectively.

The Civil War ended in 1865 - the SEC wasn't fully integrated in football until 1972...that's over a century and not that long ago.

It's not how you were treated - it's about everyone else waiting for you to come around and join modern society...so don't give us any pity-party that you feel some kinship because of some 100 year old bullshite or how the North (now represented by ESPN) mistreated you.

you know dipshit i was responding to the post that questioned WHY the south sticks together. you choose to tell me i'm wrong. so you don't like it when we stick together, you disagree as to why we stick together and you deflect my explanation with a fricking attack. i'm not 160 and i'm not looking for pity and i really don't give a damn if you believe that or not. you just go on wondering why we have southern pride and calling it bull shite and invent your own reasons. if answers to your questions cause you to spew this much vitriol maybe you shoudn't even ask them. my answer should have simply been you wouldn't understand and i would have been correct. and you and your attitude merely illustrates why we SEC people stick together.

Well, this one got interesting.

1) Florida is not and never has been the "south". I was born and lived there.

2) Like it or not there was a perception of the south and certain southerners perpetuated it by a) failing to integrate and respect African Americans as equals and b) the freaking Klan.

3) Can't we get over this bullshite and agree that we're all brought together here because PAC12, SEC, Big Ten or whatever we all love college football. There is nothing I'd rather do on a Saturday afternoon in the fall than to tailgate and enjoy an Ohio State victory with 106,000 of my friends.

a perception based on fact. however, i did not initiate that bull shite (or did not intend too).

and yes, i am over this bull shite and agree that we're here because of our love for college football, SEC bias or not.

Non-SEC Fans, what do you dislike the most about the SEC?

A. The idiotic fans who can't appreciate quality football outside of the SEC(Not the Southeast, just the SEC).

B. The media's love for the SEC and constant nut hugging .

C. The SECs current run in winning, and winning national titles.

To the OP, it is very clear, it is A. It would be 80% A, 18% B, 2% C.

There are however knowledgeable and respectful SEC fans without the ego issues and thinking they are the NFL junior and all other Conferences are community conference level. But imo, they are very rare. And you are one of the rare ones. For you said:

No, I'm pissed because you can't have a football discussion without dumb fricks like you polluting it
Has nothing to do with that, its about the lack of respect to even acknowledge football outside of the conference.

So good job OP. You know your CFB Nationally very well.

I think the problem is the rest of the Nation watches and follows SEC football. And the rest can easily see the SEC is very good. But the "average" SEC fan does not watch and follow much CFB outside his SEC. And because of that, they look retarded when they talk all the rest of the conferences down and deludedly think that the only good football is in the Deep South.

I agree. While I do believe the best football right now is played in the SEC, Bama and LSU, I watch a lot of CFB from all conferences because I just love watching CFB. PAC 12 is on the rise, and not just USC this time, I think soon the big 10 will be a power, and of the big 12 gets defense they'll be real damn good.

I love the anology you use about clueless SEC fans lecturing other fans about football across the country because it mirrors how clueless non-Southerners are on race relations. A few fans decided to broach that subject so it's fair game. Now you non Southerners know how frustrating it is to have clueless people ragging on you about something. Southerners have been lectured on race relations for decades by people from lily white parts of the country who have no clue what true integration is.

Of course you agree. I just got home a while ago and read every single post in this thread and you were right on accurate in every single one of your posts. You are knowledgeable. I can tell. But you are a rare one on this site, imo...

Exactly! That is why the Nation has such contempt for the SEC as a whole. And that is a shame. Some of the most brightest guys I have ever met were SEC guys. They know their stats, eat, drink CFB much. Neat guys! But as a whole, many SEC fans do not have a clue about CFB history, they do not know much CFB outside the SEC or watch any of the rest of the Nation, and from their lack of knowledge they speak, and it turns off the rest...

Yaeh, a perfect example would be many SEC fans' reactions when USC curb stomped AU 23-0 in AU, beat them again by 7, curb stomped Arky 70-17 and 50-14 while Arky was the SECw co-champs. The excuses were over the top. AU was over-rated, Arky had so and so hurt, Arky was over-rated, etc. The ignorance was comical.

Y'all realize SEC schools going to and winning BCS games and championships helps out EVERY SEC team financially right?

Only two teams from each conference are allowed in BCS games, the SEC will get its two, and if one of them loses, they don't get less money, dumb arse.

Also as long as the SEC continues it's dominance, recruits will think to play with the best, they have to go to the SEC.

No, the recruits want to play close to home, which just so happens to be the southeast.

Rooting for Oregon over Auburn is essentially rooting for the PAC-12 to get a leg up on the SEC financially, and recruiting. If you don't think recruits care about which conference to play in, you're dumb

If Oregon would have won against Auburn, LSU would have been affected financially and in recruiting??

Correct. This is the biggest single reason why recruits choose their schools.

Some schools have the pull to recruit nationally but even then the odds are generally against them.

This is the single biggest reason an Ohio State fan started oversigning.com because he and most Big Ten fans realize they have to limit as many scholarships as possible to compete team for team with the SEC in recruiting. I would respect the anti-oversigning crowd more if they would just admit that instead of feigning genuine concern about the student athlete. Most B1G Ten fans don't give a s### about the student athlete any more than fans in any other conference do. Sure, everyone would like to see the players realize what a great opportunity they have to earn a free college education but no one is really losing sleep over it if they blow the great opportunity they have with every resource available for them to take advantage of the free education.

B1G fans especially like to use oversigning as a way to pass themselves off as morally superior to the SEC and make excuses. Some schools in all the major BCS conferences "oversign" but only the SEC is called out for the legal practice.

Yet the SEC has taken steps to eliminate the practice as they have recognized the flaws of oversigning recruits.

The Big Ten has limited the number of recruits a team can sign for quite some time.
