Yea, I hear that. I went to HS with Rudy Burgess (attended Arizona State). He is only the 5th player in NCAA history to amass 1,000 yards receiving, rushing, and returning in his career. He went undrafted, and never made it further than practice squads.

He's back at ASU coaching.

There are always exceptions. It will be interesting to see how NFL defenses adjust to him over the years. He's the closest thing I've seen to Randall Cunningham since Randall Cunningham.

Nothing irks me more than when talking football, and a buffoon pops in and starts with the SEC! SEC! SEC! garbage. You can't give credit to any team, because they aren't gifted with the talent that the now 14 SEC schools possess. It's as if having that SEC patch on your jersey makes you superhuman or something, because USC/Texas/Oklahoma/tOSU/Michigan don't deserve to be talked about in the same sentence as an SEC school.

I'm a fan of an team that's in the SEC, not an SEC fan but this drives me nuts as well.

It's like incest when I see people cheering for Bama. "Might as well keep it in the family"

Finally, the "SEC loyalty" card. "We" won 6 national titles in a row. "We" won the title again in 2011. This makes me absolutely sick. I've heard LSU fans(none in my social circle)saying atleast it was to an SEC team, and not Oklahoma State. What the frick??

dude any LSU fan that said that should be thrown off the top of Tiger Stadium.

SEC tards are still fighting the Civil War while everyone else has long-since moved on.

It's like little brother who wants to still fight over some argument you had when you were kids - you've moved on, little brother hasn't. He remains mentally and emotionally - childlike.

Until conference vs. conference nonsense ceases and they get back to hating their real rivals instead of imaginary Northern or West Coast teams they will never join the Union.

The only time I do not want to see Bama lose is if them not losing a certain game helped LSU. For example, I might need them to beat Auburn so LSU could win the SEC West or something, otherwise I always root against them.

There's definately an inferiority complex component to it.

The only reason I cheer for the SEC in the BCSNC is to keep the perception as the big dog that needs to be knocked off which I could see possibly helping LSU to get in to the BCSNC over another team. That is less of a factor once the 4 team playoff kicks in, but it still probably wouldn't hurt in reguards to trying to receive at-large births if need be.

If it wasn't for Saban at Bama, I don't feel LSU being significantly pressed in recruiting. Texas was a bigger threat to us in LA and TX than any other SEC school before Saban came back with all his ties to LA.

Texas has been to more national title games in the past 7 years(lets just say decade) than 9/12 SEC schools, and just as many as 12/12

actually in the last 10 years, 1 SEC team has been to 3 BCS CG.

Except, Alabama isn't your blood relative, they are your conference rival.

look at all the natural disasters that have happened in the south: and how that has brought fans of all 12 schools(not counting the 2 newbies yet) together for a better cause.

First of all, with the tornadoes in Tuscalosa last year, outside of Auburn, what SEC school did more than say, they'd did for Haiti after the earthquake? And other conferences do the same, see UT's reaction to the bonfire collapse at A&M.

I don't see why this is such a big deal. People from all over the country try to take a shite on the SE part of the country for one reason or another every day of the year. Everyone has an elitist attitude about something. If you don't, then you have some sort of coginitive deficiency.

What is the issue with a collective group of people beating their chest about the things they're better than everyone else at? Being passionate about something is a good thing.

And 1 Big Ten team has been to 3 in the last 11 years.
