I know there are thousands of Mexican places in Dallas, but what are some of your favorites? I've only been there once or twice so not even close to scratching the surface there.

Fuel city tacos!!
Texas Monthly did spread couple years ago for the best tacos in the state...this place won. We went soon after and tried and they were amazing!! Also get the cup of corn served by the ladies outside

El fenix is apparently really good, it is greasy tex mex that is relatively cheap.
Uncle Julios is good but over priced.
There is an iron cactus in downtown dallas by the Joule hotel that has great mexican food but is also higher in price.

Mia's (on Lemmon ave....not mia coccina)-My favorite. It will be crowded and they have a postage stamp size waiting/ bar area. But its worth it.
Desperados (Upper Greenville-north of Mockingbird)
Avilla's (Maple St....sort of in the Barrio)
Chuy's (at Knox-McKinney)
Marianos....more a family place but good food.
Avoid:
Javiers-overpriced avg. food w/ pretentious Highland Park people and wannabes.
Iron Cactus-just bad
Blue Goose- It was good 15 yrs ago. We've left half our food on the plate the last couple of times.

The Tamales at Gloria's are legit. Wrapped in banana leaf.
