I'll agree with this.

sad once ray lewis retires...the NFL won't have a legendary prototypical linebacker anymore. Patrick Willis has potential to be great though.

Good Question:
Players in the conversation, Dick Butkis, Mike Singletary, Ray Nitschke, Jack Ham, Jack Lambert, Lawrence Taylor, Ray Lewis, Derrick Thomas, Kevin Greene, Junior Seau, Ted Hendricks, Derrick Brooks, Karl Mecklenburg, Greg Lloyd & Rickey Jackson

Bobby Bell, Willie Lanier, Sam Huff, Nick Buoniconti, and Chuck Bedrarik belong in the convo, too.

Ray Lewis gets a ton of hype but Seau was just as good

Patrick Willis right now is just as good if not better than Ray Lewis or Junior Seau were in their primes.

No, that's not it. I'm a little more mature than that. A college kid might post something like that to get a "CSB" but not I.

No question at all.

I love them both and I'd have to say with my heart that I liked Seau better.....but if I was picking my own team and could only pick one of them in their absolute primes, I'd probably have to pick Ray Lewis. I also think they're both pretty comparable as far as not only being such a force, but in longevity. It's amazing to play the positions they play(played), at the level they've played for so many years.

Ray Lewis and Junior Seau in their prime, on the same team, would have been a sight to see. Seau was a bright light at USC, and I was sad to see him leave early for the NFL. As a San Diego Chargers fan though, he provided the Bolts with many years of quality service, and having met him in person at his restaurant in San Diego, I can say he was a good dude.

Bunch of youngsters.......he was not top 10.
It's very debatable.
AND not close to top-5 at all.

This was a quote from the Yahoo article on Seau's apparent suicide.RIP Junior. He had a great career.

Adam Schefter said this morning that had Seau played the majority of his career on the east coast he'd be considered one of the best ever, only behind LT.

I think he's in the conversation, but all of this "without a doubt" talk is crazy. Off top, in no particular order, you have these guys who were better than Seau...
Mike Singletary
Jack Lambert
Jack Ham
Ray Lewis
Dick Butkus
Lawrence Taylor
So that's 6 already. I think he falls in the next 4, but I'd bet you can make just as much of a case for a few other guys.

Well at least 4 of those 6 can strongly be debated. But you're entitled to your opinion. Just like someone saying he's without a doubt in their top 5. Both opinions can be debated.
