Whole garlic is a solid add in.
Adding sausage sucks. It makes everything else taste smokey.

Went to the Bugs and Brew thing behind Jesuit this weekend, pineapples and asparagus were very popular. Even saw a team use sweet potatoes.

I love sausage, just not a boiled soggy mess.
You must be doing it wrong. I have never gotten soggy sausage.

I'm a purist, so the only things I like in my boil are corn and potatoes, and those are boiled separately from the crawfish. Onions can be acceptable as well.
If I wanted sausage/artichokes/carrots/garlic/cheesy hotdogs/broccoli/cans of corn/ in my crawfish boil, I'd have a sausage/artichokes/carrots/garlic/cheesy hotdogs/broccoli/cans of corn boil.
But that's just me, and get off my lawn.

I don't boil crawfish, but when I attend boils, my absolute favorite things to eat are the garlic and onions and mushrooms. Garlic being my #1. My skin smells for days after a big boil.

In laws do deer sausage and the boil juices them up a bit but they are far from soggy.
I do potatoes, corn, garlic. Sometimes Lemons and limes for flavor. Thats all you need
