I'm actually seeing alot of this backlash over Ozzie's comments about Fidel Castro. He's taking some heat and people want him fired already.

Do comments about a 95 year old really warrant any of this?

All of this is ridiculous.

I saw the other thread after I glanced over the board and missed it. Sorry.

When will people stop becoming such pussies over words?

lol @ this. His comments were stupid but not worthy of being suspended for.

Why should baseball care about what he thinks of a person from another country?

To be fair, we didn't grow up in Cuba under Castro's regime, so we can't possibly fathom how bad his comments were.

Also, MLB didn't suspend Ozzie the Marlins did....that actually makes it a little more understandable.

Who suspended him? MLB or the owners?

I could see the owners freaking out if the manager they hired suddenly alienated the surrounding community 4 games into the season.

It would be similar to a new UGA coach extolling on the drive and passion of Sherman as he set Georgia ablaze.

I knew some people whose parents grew up in Cuba. You have no idea how shitty of a person he is.

eta: No shitty, evil is a much better description.

all may be true. Still point in case, someone should be allowed to make stupid comments in this country.
