If we don't make one or two other guys say no first before offering Jones, our athletic department really has no idea what they are doing. Or they just don't want to spend the money.

Realistically LSU is in a horrible spot right now. I threw out Alford, Wright, Dixon and McDermott as the top guys. I'm afraid though that they're going to be stuck with Jones or an assistant.
I could even live with Travis Ford.

Based on history with Alleva -- Trent, Nikki -- there is every reason to expect a national candidate. I don't expect a candidate with LSU ties, like JJ. Just my opinion.
Alleva has more history at LSU, more knowledge and familiarity with the BOS, more knowledge of the financials than he did 5 years ago. I expect him to swing for the fences.

I think we can remove Jamie Dixon of Pitt, if he was ever really a candidate. He just took a commitment from Central Michigan transfer Trey Zeigler. His father Ernie Zeigler, recently fired from CMU, is a friend and former co-worker with Dixon. I'm sure Dixon would have informed him to hold off on his commitment if he was considering leaving.

Hotep, should I update the initial post in this thread? Can you give me a legit list?

In my opinion, there's no legit list. The one in the other thread from ESPN is a good general list of common names, but not based on any sources.
I wouldn't be surprised if the hire is someone that hasn't been mentioned.

Theus seems like a very viable candidate....who is current prez/chancellor at lsu?
Posted on 4/7/12 at 6:26 pm to LSUfanaddict
Cameron Dollar - Seattle U. They are about to join the WAC, but he will always be in UW's shadow at SU and he's a great recruiter, solid coaching experience and background of building from scratch.

I hate Cameron Dollar as he torched Corey Beck in Seattle in 95

Why would he even come here?
It's called money honey!!!

That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out opinion.
