unless you're expecting him to hit at a .500 clip in those 7 games
he did it for half the season

well he's obviously not hitting as well as he was. expecting someone to hit .500 like that is always asking too much, regardless how how well they've been doing.

i know you said at least 7. you could have said at least 5 too. 16 hits in 10 games would be pretty good in itself. that'd be roughly 16/40

So Rhymes' average has dropped only .009 since March? That is superbad!!!

so you pick the first few weeks of the season. His average was not .500 in march. his average has dropped about .35 in the past 2 1/2 weeks, though. He went 2/12 against Vandy, 4/13 against USC. That's a .240 average the past 2 weekends, so yeah he's struggling a bit. No one ever said he sucks or anything, but he's going through a bit of a slump that was bound to happen eventually based on the law of averages.

Boh, I appreciate you keeping up with the stats and I really enjoy reading it.

Do people realize that Rhymes is about to set an LSU batting record that may not be broken in our lifetimes! A freaking .470? (hyperbole or statistical fact?)

15 hits away. I think he will
break the most hits record if we keep
winning

The key is to play 9 or more games the rest of the way. He is averaging 1.78 hits per game.

If he at least keeps pace the rest of the way

8 games = 14 more hits (ties record)
9 games = 16 more hits (record)

It is very possible.

I have my popcorn ready. It'll get more and more exciting as he gets closer since we will be winning games if he does it
