I am going tomorrow night with coworkers...not my choice!

Should I expect freshly prepared real grub, or is this just another chain restaurant?

It is a chain, however, they have an extensive menu, so usually everyone can find something they like to eat. Good food and good beer.

I don't think it's bad at all for a chain. It's not like BR has a great variety for pizza.

I've been several times. Didnt greatly care for anything I' had. It's comparable to chilis except they supposedly have a decent pizza and the chain actually brews their own beer. It's not made at each location.
I'd be okay with never going again, but it's not too bad.

It's ok. Good pizza and decent appetizers. Service always sucked when I went though.

Yep. I've had terrible service every time. Actually told GF last time I won't go back. She likes one of their sandwiches.

My brother loves this place and thus I've had to go a couple times. I found everything was a bit overpriced and the found wasn't anything special. The service was good each time I've gone though.

It's pretty good as far as chains go. Good beer. I haven't been disappointed with any of the food I have tried there.

Lots of TVs and a nice sized bar. It's a good place to go for drinks and apps.

It's not that bad. Never a place I choose to go, but the couple times I've been have been alright. Some of the beers are good and a nice change of pace from the beers at my normal restaurants.

Same. It's not my #1 choice or anything, but their kitchen is open until like midnight-12:30 so it's a popular after work spot. I find their small bites menu to be tasty, as well as their tomato basil soup. I generally go to have drinks and snack on items.. not for a heavy meal.

eta: the drinks are really pricy though

I don't think this is correct. They buy their beer from St. Arnold I think.

They have St. Arnolds contracted to brew their recipes I believe.

I always go there and get a few pale ales and a bite before going to the movies. I like the pale ale a lot and have enjoyed most menu items. Service has een good for me.

Oh ok. I was just going off of what the server I only saw every 20 minutes told me.

It would just be nice to actually get locally owned brew pub in BR.

I really like it at BJ's. A have a few friends that are servers there. The only thing I know to stay away from are the wontons. I haven't had a lot of different stuff on the menu since my diet is restricted, but I know the pork chops are okay, the parmesan crusted chicken is pretty damn good, the chicken marsala pasta is really really good, the lettuce wraps are mediocre.. too salty for my taste, the broccoli and cheese soup is good. I haven't had the pizza, which is supposedly the best thing they offer.

eta

And they are known for generally bad service. My best friend works there though, and she is a great server.

They take a stab at pretty much everything... Asian, Mexican, Italian, Cajun, Creole, BBQ, Seafood, Steaks, and I'm probably not even close to soaking it all in.

This should tell you all you need to know about BJ's

New Orleans Jambalaya

Cajun Pasta

Yeah, I've eaten here many times before, albeit under a bunch of different restaurant names.

A WHOLE LOT of stuff done very half arse, and not much of anything done real well. I've read this book before and it's always the same ending.

Their Marketing Department makes their menu. They take a poll on what people like to put in their mouths and make an entire menu out of it with no rhyme or reason to it, and that's why it's all over the map. Far better to do a few things really well than a whole bunch of things not very well.
